I have a modified Acebeam l16 and this was the battery that was suggested to be used w the light.
For a spare battery, is there any other comparable brand or spec??
Thank you,
William

I suspect you have your L16 modified with a FET drive. This means you will get max output with a freshly charged cell from something like the VTC5 you mentioned.
The VTC6 has 3120 mAh, so you have more runtime. But you get just a tad less output freshly charged. In real life you will most likely not see a difference at all.
Other suitable cells with just a tad less initial output, but with a bit extra runtime are the LG HG2 and Samsung 30Q.
Either you solder blob them, or get them in button top variant.
But why are you looking for alternatives: why not stick with the VTC5?
Cheers!
I was confused, as the light originally came with a 3100ma battery from the factory and the person who did the mods suggested the 2600 high drain, as better?
If I see this correctly, the 2600 will give me more output vs the 3100’s longer run time?
Check out HKJ comparision graphs and decide for your self. Really not much difference between the two. The 5 has a little less voltage sag under high load at start and the 6 has a better run time with a less voltage sag after the first few minutes or so.
Correct. The standard L16 has springs on both ends so a button top battery isn’t needed.
Flat tops has less resistance.
Does your L16 have the spring removed?
No, the springs are in. The Sony battery has a button top but with springs, can I also use a flat?

P.s. I am looking at the Imalent dx80{fast fall off and non remv batteries} and the Acebeam x80 which sky lumen mods.
Any input on these or may a suggestion for another high lumen light with a good flood, yet some decent throw?
