Show us your motorbike. Stll, action or broken.

Hehe yeah it was a expensive toy and a mid life crisis ( i was 40 back then )

Drove a little on MX track, but no one else did and i was not allowed to drive at the same time as the 2 wheeled, and anyway already back then i was fawked up from smoking this and that and what not work related so all i could do was 3 laps and then i had to recuperate for 30 minutes before i was ready for and allowed 3 more laps.

So i turned to stunting the quad, and that was pretty cool, i do miss the shots of adrenaline and what not the body release when you are on the limit, but quad had to go when i sold the house.

I have lead foot and lead wrist so me not killing my self or having ruined any of my many cars are a wonder, i havent even gotten a single speeding ticket though in the 90ties i often had severe brake fading in my little Opel GT after driving a bit more than a mile in the suburbs of my home town, actually then i changed brake pads 2 times every year.

I even managed to drive the Opel on 2 wheels as i one day clipped the inside curb of a corner as i made a right turn, drove 20 - 30 M on the Left hand wheels before i had to turn left to get all 4 wheels on the ground, or launch like that up over another curb.

Today i have all licenses but MC - large bus and taxi. i would love to get MC now and get me a Nimbus to ride around.

Nice ride MRsDNF, 300 or 500? Looked up the company and like the philosophy. Take it easy, my ribs are still giving me problems from 6 months ago. Sales Rep that sells the plates for fixing broken ribs said without plating they take 18 months to heal completely.

Double Kawasaki Trouble with KawiBoy (my boy) Brian …. And now….

Good fun guys! Ok, here was my first full size bike, 1985 Yamaha Virago 1000:

Then along came a 1988 Yamaha Vmax, my dream bike:

I’m not sure I have heard a better sounding bike than this V4 with a huge Kerker open baffle:

The red Vmax moved on and I got a black 1992 Vmax with a few other goodies/enhancements. The wife and I did a lot of camping and traveling on it before the kids came along:

Winding through the tail of the dragon:

And finally, what is in my stable now, the Vmax and a 1998 Honda Foreman 400, which is a lot of fun with the kiddos:

new 20 year old bike. Still available here in Austrailia

My trusty 1978 Honda CT90 …

You haven’t pulled it apart yet ltp?
Thats one clean 90 weklund. Over here they are all red. Did not know they come in yellow.

Edit. Heres an early version of your 90. My dads on the left with me in front of him and his mate on the right who now collects early CB750 Hondas. Picture must of been taken late 60’s.

This is my current ride and it’s stable mate…’16 Yamaha FZ09 with plenty of mods, and my great little trail bike the ’97 KLX300 with a plate Redirecting...

A picture of me and my girlfriend on my 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650 taken around 1979. I sold the bike to a friend of mine in 1980. I haven’t seen the guy in years. I found out just recently he is no longer with us :(, but the bike still exists and running.

Remembered I posted this here years ago, showed my wife and she didn’t believe it was me lol

Thanks again for restoring the picture. Downloaded it to my phone again. Should he stored in my Dropbox so it doesn’t get lost again

So I guess your not that guy now Pulsar.
Is the girlfriend still around Glenn?
Nice bike waynestractor. Suncoaster here has one from the same family as yours. If you resize the picture to 100% it will only fill the page that is opened. :+1:

She won’t let me have a bike because she says “I want you alive”…
She’s heard stories and tales of what I used to be, so can’t really blame her I guess… But one day I will ride again.
Think I was probably 15 in the pic… More than half a life ago…

Glenn,

Looks like Eddie Van Halen and Valarie
Kawi has 4 into 1 header

Like the cars in the backround, Toyota ? Wagon, then looks like semi hippy Chevy van and maybe a Mustang Fastback?
And a Firebird hiding in the bushes on the left, see the honeycomb wheels.

Post more 70’s stuff!
Later
Keith

How do I resize to 100%?

My nephew atop my 1968 R69S BMW.

Nice, been thinking about the Suzuki DR650S The aftermarket accessories seem endless for these bikes. Suzuki has had these DR bikes in their line-up for 27 years, refining them each year.

Hi Keith. That’s a Danco 4 into one header. I also installed hotter cams, velocity stacks, a Barnett high performance clutch, and S&W Shocks. I also replaced the swingarm bushings with needle bearings. That said, it performed much better than stock.

The car right behind me is a 1973 Mazda RX-3 Wankel. The car on the right is a Mustang Fastback. Not sure what year. Not sure about the other vehicles.

Steve, the girlfriend is still around.

A friend of mine who managed a machine shop drilled my rotors for me.

My dad has a kz650 he bought new when he got out of boot camp, think its a 79. He had it done up with bigger (or more?) mikuni carbs, kirker exhaust, pretty sure he did work to the motor too, cant remember exactly what all was done. From what I found it was a pretty hot bike in its day, top of the 750cc class being only a 650cc. He keeps telling me to take it, but I dont have room to store a bike here and dont want to leave it sitting outside.
He also had an rd400 that he bought my mom before they split, he ended up keeping it in the divorce. He always said you know its time for a rebuild when you cant pull a wheelie in every gear lol.
I always wanted to get an rz350 and do it up, or get a newer 250 ninja and put a banshee motor in it. Always loved 2 strokes

If I remember correctly, the Kirker headers for the KZ650 were reverse of the Danko’s. The pipe was on the opposite side.

BTW, I had to paint my Danco’s a couple of times each season. And yes, I used high heat paint designed for this purpose. It would turn white where the pipes exited the head after a couple of months. I couldn’t live with that.

One other thing, I had a full shim kit for valve adjustments. I did all my own work back then. Times have changed. I don’t even change my own oil anymore. Except of course my lawnmower and snowblower. I’m not that lazy! lol!
