no, it’s CC driver, the driver will auto change the voltage to where current run through led is the one you set( for EX, 3A)
for ex, to have 3A run through xp-l2, the driver must decrease the voltage to 3.6v, but to have 3A run through 6v xhp50. the driver must decrease to about 6.4v

Ok, got a minor update last night.
Like expected another batch of lights are shipping this week, everything is still on schedule.
This batch is around 125 lights which brings the total to a bit over 600 lights shipped.
Apparently this is the last of the DHL shipments, so the next batch should be the Registered mail.
The delay in shipments from the last batch was due to having to apply for a new permit to ship lithium batteries, which delayed things a few days.
The reduction in numbers seems to be due to lumintop going back to the V2 reflector feedrate to hopefully improve the quality some. So lets not go back to complaining about speed and just wait for them to be done, ok? Mixed messages do not help things.
So, things are on track and there are no problems. You will get your light, it just is taking longer then expected. Overall though this GB has gone very smoothly, surprisingly so to be honest. I mean I will take some shipping delays over issues with the lights any day.
At the new reduced production volume it is looking like the 3rd round of PM’s might have to wait until after the Chinese new year. At this rate they will finish around early February. Giving only 2 weeks until Chinese new year. So they might get ~200-300 lights shipped before that and leave everyone else hanging for a month.
I will discus it with Lumintop and Neal as that draws closer but don’t be surprised if this is the case. Plus if we waited it is possible they could “stockpile” some reflectors to reduce the shipping delays.
The stock driver is actually capable of driving a 3V LED, it will just be limited in how much current it can provide. With the stock driver looks like around ~4A is the max.
I have some upgraded components here to test but no 3V LED’s worth testing it on. With the upgraded components it should be able to handle ~5A or maybe a bit more. The diode is the limiting factor for 3V operation. Still, that is enough for most of the thrower 3V LED’s.
I have some other projects ont he table but still plan to test out some XHP70 driver mods to raise the power some there as well. Although much above 6-7A and you might as well go FET driver. Which is something I plan to whip up at some point.
Good news about the V2 reflector TA, nice to hear they are thinking for quality over quantity.

Suddenly hoping that my shipment was later rather than earlier, though i guess it’s more a matter of aesthetics if the throw values have been shown to be similar.
Hopefully this doesn’t result in a bunch of complaints from people that have already received their V1.5 light.
Anyone who ordered the lamp to DHL will have to get it next week? I ordered the lamp with DHL delivery, but I have not received it yet. Is it possible that I will receive it now?

Yes, it is almost entirely cosmetic. The real world performance difference between them will be virtually none. Which is why we approved the V1 reflector in the first place.
In theory, yes your DHL order should be shipping this week. Although they said almost all, so that leads me to assume there are still a handful of DHL orders to be shipped with the next batch.
So registered mail has another week or so before the first batch is shipped. If you take an estimated shipping time of 3 weeks, the registered mail GT’s arrive in a month. Ok.
Remember to factor in Chinese New Year

Which in 2018 (the year of the dog) lasts from 02-16-2018 to 03-04-2018. Officially it is a seven day long national holiday. But it is traditionally celebrated in the family. So better count on two weeks, travelling time included.
It’s registerd mail or DHL taking us from behind, and i’m taking a risk now to get shipping changed to DHL. or it will arrive around the summer xD
I got the Nitecore TM handle in today, the radius is smaller than the tube on the GT… if I spread it out to make it fit the corners where the band fits together will cut into the ano and in the end it’d just look bad.
It’s not right for the TM16 either, but a strip of copper sheet material filled the gap and now it looks nice with the copper showing through the cut-out on the band, so it’s still a win even if not for the GT.
TurningBlueChips has the best bet, machined to fit this light specifically… can’t wait to see how it works out.
Edit: The camera lens handle looks like it’d work very nicely, albeit at a price. For $23 and then another $12 shipping it gets pricey. There are other’s similar selling for $59. Thinking about trying one, can put it on my 70-200mm’s foot and use it like it’s designed for if it isn’t a good fit on the GT, but it’ll have to wait a while, the pocketbook is overextended.
