Just tested the charging mechanism of the Boruit RJ-02, it charges quite slow ~0.60A max, but seems like a good charge curve. (using EBD-USB+ to monitor the charge rate)
(tested a cell I got from a powerbank, that 18650 I’ve already tested to be around 2300mAh with another analyzing charger)
Upon fully charged from the RJ-02 (indicator just turned green), I took the battery out and checked that it’s really close to 4.20v; and just to test how “fully” charged it was, I tried to charge the “just-freshly-charged-from-RJ-02” 18650 on my analyzing charger, and it was able to charge only another 10mAh into the cell, meaning it really charges cells to full.
I measured 1.40A on the Boruit RJ-02’s tailcap current with a freshly-charged battery.
If I recall correctly, the RJ-02 does not appear to have low-voltage protection, so it may run down the battery if left on. (maybe someone can confirm?)
you can change the emitter, I will make more picture/ dismantle when I will finish with the seller
anyone ever had the same lemon as me?
headlamp working only when charging?
The ’02 I leave alone because despite the generic emitter, it just plain doesn’t bug me. Quite nice, in fact. So dissecting it and risking having other components fall off the uniboard when trying to heat up (just) the LED doesn’t make sense to me.
But having multiple blinkies in the main sequence? Nope, not a chance, mmmmmmbuh-bye. Don’t care how nice it is otherwise.
At least if the charging board were independent of the driver, etc., then I’d risk it.
