Are these NCR18650B batteries legit?

Where did you get this information? Can you please give arguments or links?

I grant you it can take time to find the genuine amongst the fakes on there.

But i bought 12 of these from another seller and 4 Sanyo’s for my x7 from a different seller on ali express and they were all genuine.

Just find a seller with good feedback on what your buying and do a discharge test when you get them and you cant go to far wrong.

ive also bought a custom 60 x 18650 cell pack on there and all the cells in that were genuine too.

Tbh ive never had a problem with anyting ive bought from ali, the only time ive had a problem was with DHGate and also with fake cells from a UK seller on ebay.

As for the cells the op listed, i wouldn’t buy them from the seller he listed, for the reason stated by other members

And can you name at least one store on AliExpress, where the original batteries are constantly sold? At least one…

Huh? I got two 4-pax of button-top 30Qs from FT a month or so ago. Shipping was only a few bux. Hang on…

Yeah, 8× 30Q for 37.03 total, 34.16 for the cells, 2.87 for shipping.

Actually, you need to do the opposite. Charge it fully, then measure the current coming out.

Imagine a leaky bucket that you want to fill. It’s a 10gal bucket, but you dump 25gal of water into it by the time it’s considered “full”. 15gal went out the holes and only 10gal stuck. But yowza, that’s a 25gal bucket!

You’ll always be able to stuff more into a Li cell than is the actual capacity. The excess comes out as heat.

Yeesh, you guys must have the crappiest luck…

Mine came in exactly 1mo (ordered on the 27th, received on the 27th), and that’s after over a week and a half of sitting idle waiting to be “in stock”, so figure 2.5wks or so to cross the planet.

Sitting in customs, maybe?

I've only ordered three items at separate times from Fastech last year and then gave up. They all eventually did come, but I almost forgot about them and all of a sudden nearly 5 months later they show up at the post office. They still will ship to canada, but not batteries anymore as far as I can tell. Really, the only site that has constantly had speedy shipping to canada for me was banggood. So many items came within 10 days but they don't ship batteries anymore to canada either.

why it’s expensive ? . I always buy its with 1$ price

Again, hung up in customs? FT ships tracked to the US, dunno if you can track the package online however it comes to you.

I got things that sat in customs, well, forever, the longest, but still a month or more for other things before being handed off to the USPS.

Crazy. Right now on FastTech. Button top 30Q 4 pack $19.09 x 2=$38.18 When I select United States, the ONLY shipping option not greyed out for me is: “UPS/FedEx (Large Parcels) $40.25 (7 working days in transit typical)” That would be 38.18 40.25 = $78.43 Am I doing something wrong or missing something? (knowing me, most likely)

We may be seeing the reluctance of various postal services to accept LiIon batteries. . .

Ah I see what you did here. Looks like you were just making stuff up.

klrman have you checked out hkequipment? They’re also very reliable. HKEQUIPMENT - 照明及戶外用品

hlKARInoob, now that was a really good find, thanks!!! I just ordered from them and it was accepted, so they are on my list for good now. Really appreciate you helping me out there

Excellent! I hope you’ve used code “HKE80” for 8% discount… Otherwise for next time. HKEquipment have a good reputation; I’ve bought several items throughout the years. Cheers man.

Do not give in to your paranoia, fight it!

Actually, I just share my experience. I have long been buying and selling 18650, I tried to buy them in different places.
For a buyer from Russia (I emphasize - from Russia, for other countries there will be other recommendations), there are only three places with original batteries, I listed them above. Aliexpress never had original batteries. On Taobao - you can find. Sometimes.
In Europe, for sure, there are shops with a good reputation, we just do not know about them, because they are inconvenient for us or at the price or lack of delivery. For example, those two batteries for $ 20.99 from my point of view are insanely expensive, but, perhaps, for you it is acceptable.
How are things in America and Canada - I do not know at all, I’m interested in listening too. And what there shops, I at all do not guess.

I’m just used to buying 18650 in decent places and I urge beginners not to fall for the tricks of sellers with Aliexpress. If you were just losing money, that interests me very little. But counterfeit lithium batteries can be very dangerous, and this must also be taken into account.

So do not look for evil intent where there is none. This is the prerogative of the CNN, not yours

I can’t vouch for these stores personally (yet), but two stores on Ali that I’ve seen referred to as selling genuine cells, AND ship to Canada, are:

Liitokala Store

Sunway Store

Two weeks ago, I ordered some Sony VT6 18650 cells from the Sunway Store. Tracking appears to be sending them my way, and I’ll report when I get them and test them to see if they’re legit.

BTW, the Sunway Store is free shipping to Canada (probably worldwide), and the Liitokala Store charges a small fee for shipping. I’ll try them next. You do have to order more than 1 battery (selected in the color option) to make the price come down to something reasonable.

My only other option from Canada is to order from the US, but shipping is around $20.

I don’t expect these stores to ship to Canada forever. It’s always a hunting game to find somewhere in China that will ship, and they’re always changing.

Panasonics and Samsung here are fake, 100%, cheсked.

Looking forward to your feedback about this store. Suddenly miracles happen?
ncr18650b, samsung 35E, lg hg2, f1l, he4 looks very good. In the photo they look original. But very expensive. I here sell them cheaper.

By whom? Most of the reviews on the store seem good, and they’ve been in business for years. There are always a handful of bad reviews. Maybe some of the time they got fakes, but all of them? What about the reviews that say the measured capacity was good? I don’t think there could be so many good reviews that are shilling for the store.

I don’t doubt you. I’m just wondering how you know they’re all fake?

Most people can not distinguish between real and fake batteries, because they never saw the real ones. For those who work with real batteries, counterfeits are obvious.
And you do not worry about reviews like “one of the four batteries exploded the first time you charge”? Not much like a real battery, is it?
And everyone next thinks “I’m lucky and they’ll send me real batteries …”

Do you know who my most loyal customers are? Those who independently tried several times to win in this lose-lose lottery

Isn’t a capacity test enough to determine if it’s fake? Okay, I know it’s not a perfect test, but there’s probably not much profit to be made from re-wrapping a 3500mAh cell and claim it’s a Panasonic 3500mAh. Because the “fake” cell is probably a Panasonic anyway (or some other good brand).

I’d also do a voltage-hold test, to make sure that when charged to 4.2v it maintains that charge for at least a few days.

I can see you might get old cells that still have the proper capacity. But fakes?

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that there are zero genuine sellers on Ali. But, I’m certainly willing to believe there are a huge number of fakes. Right now, the only alternative is large shipping fees from the US.
