Sooooooo…… I signed up for the forum after the initial purchase group. I have yet to receive an email asking for down payment, etc. So am I just wasting my time at this point? Thanks.
Don’t worry, they would send you a refund if you requested it, there would be no need to file a paypal dispute.

You’re on the list. #1091.
It’s been a while since I visited this thread, and even longer since i remember reading this but iirc turbomode is entered by double clicking and should be visibly brighter than the top of the ramp? Am I remembering correctly? If it isn’t (which is my case) any reason that you can think of? To head off the question im using the cells from Neal that i purchased with the light
Thanks in advance
Yes, the ramp stops at 2A and turbo goes to 2.5A.
Visually the difference is very minor and hard to notice unless you are looking for it (which is why we set the ramp to stop at 2A).
If the cells are low or have excessive voltage sag, then turbo will not be any brighter then the top of the ramp as it would have already dropped out of regulation.
This is where high drain cells do have benefits, they voltage sag less and allow it to maintain regulation longer.
Wennn:Just received my GT, does anyone else have centering issues with their LED? The hole in the black centering ring is much larger than the square of the xhp35hi, which is clearly much closer to one side of that ring compared to the other.
Almost all of the prototype lights suffered a piece of the centering ring being scraped off and landing on the LED and caused it to burn.
It looks like to fix this they decided to center the reflector to the mcpcb instead of the LED itself. Which is a good idea and something we considered when this started.
This works fine in the vast majority of cases but in some the LED will reflow slightly off-center and cause an issue like you saw. The good news is that yours is about as bad as it can get and sometimes reassembling the light can fix it like it did in your case. It also should not be enough to make any noticeable difference in the throw of the light.
Seeing as the LED burning would kill the light, I would say this is a worthwhile tradeoff to make sure that doesn’t happen and completely kill the light.
I have yet to manage to open the head to adjust the centering ring, as it is on too tight.
The hotspot seems to be very far from a perfect circle so it might actually affect throw in this case, still thinking of how to remove this oversized head with whatever I have at home.
For those that have done so, any tips?

The 3rd batch of PM’s has not been sent out yet. It is looking like it might have to wait until after the Chinese new year at this point. Hopefully they can “stockpile” some reflectors to make shipping faster.
Thank you TA. I’m getting older and it may be my eyes aren’t sensistive enough to pick it up. There is a momentary dark period when it switches from the top of the ramp to turbo and it appears the same to me but im sure it’s just my vison.
My GT has arrived a few minutes ago. It’s still in the DHL box. Lumintop put $30 on the invoice. I asked in the google doc to put $22 on the invoice to avoid tax. Everything above $24 will be picked out by DHL. So that’s probably why Thijsco did not have to pay tax and I paid €50
Let me guess that only orders “with batteries” were declared as 30$ value …
Franz: g_sintornillos: djozz: JasonWW:It’s just a flashlight. Geez.
Your still gonna get yours before many others even get a chance to pay for theirs. Think positive. No need for negativity.
You were not responding to me but your post does apply: I think that many people, like me, and the GT-team, think extremely positive about this group buy (and regularly post about it ) but at the same time are a bit disappointed about how the shipping goes and showing that as well.
LOL, for flashoholics no flashlight is just a flashlight +1
For me it is also a lot of moneyI have been thinking positive for many days, but positive thinking is being consumed little by little and each time there less
Yeah for us South Americans its a lot of money, here in brazil the cost of GT its amost 1/3 minimum wage and 3.5x the price in U$…… I´m VERY worried without tracking code, the packet could be lost, stolen, arrives and taxed and with that condition it have a time until I have to pay the time stocked and the worst…. Send back to sender :person_facepalming:
I have been blessed by God to have conditions to spend in lights even more expensive like my TN40S and other things not too important to live while many others are “falling apart” here and not have the little amount of GT to spend in food in the entire of month. This make me give more respect for my money and I understand if few peoples think it is only another pretext to “make another random rant :confounded: ”, but I have to tell this, this is I’m feeling :weary:
I understand what Texas Ace told about the team have no control about it, I have only thanks the team about the project and the effort spend in this, but I’m disapointed with Lumintop crew about the “secret” and ambiguous way those lights are shipped and notificatios comes (IF comes)
For many here the tracking code could be some “frill”, for me its crucial!
I am from Argentina, and I fully understand your situation, because it is the same as mine, it does not bother me at all the shipping time, but the shipping information is absolutely necessary, as well as the companion g-sintornillos, greetings !!
I just sent a new email reminding Neal that it is absolutely necessary to have the AWL DHL for the customs declaration
Without doing this procedure I can not enter anything to the country

Just a thought… Use a large rubber band with a large pipe wrench. The Rubber Band protects the surface and also provides extra grip. The Pipe Wrench I am talking about is the one with the chain…
Zip Ties may also fill in for a similar “tool”
Can it be believed?
Can it be believed?
With all of these orders, there are bound to be some mistakes along the way. Can’t say I am surprised. I am sure Neal will sort it out.

If you have not payed extra fees and taxes in the Customs, send it to me please,as I also am in EU.I think we can manage it with Neal.
Of course I have payed at 2/12/2017.
Received mine today. Ordered with batteries but there was none with the package. What should I do?
While the pipe wrench below will no doubt do the job…. be sure to use plenty of padding between the bezel & the chain if you use it.
Here is a strap wrench to consider.
And a link to images of more strap wrenches…

Wennn:Off-centered LED. Wondering why the hole in the centering ring is so much larger than the LED, does that not defeat it’s purpose.
I’m thinking that loosening and retightening the head might solve this, but I cannot get into the head, it’s on to tight, any suggestions?
The tailcap ring is also really tight, and someone a few pages back suggested it might be due to a pinched o-ring, but I am unable to unscrew the piece under the lumintop logo too. That definitely doesn’t look as close to the LED as the one DB Custom posted back in post 13277. I hope this is an isolated case and the quality control hasn’t started to drop off, that would be a real shame especially since there are a lot still to go.

Got mine this morning with batteries. Centering and reflector both look great. Now for darkness…
Just unboxed mine.
It’s BIG.
Just a single spec of dust inside the reflector
Just received the GT with batteries at long Island NY (978).
