Paypal dispute, being reviewed by paypal, how long should it take?

Hey Everyone,

Bought some parts from solarforceflashlight-sales on Nov 18. Long story short, it has not arrived, and I opened a paypal dispute Jan 6.

I escalated it to a claim on Jan 9.

The seller responded with tracking info (just before the deadline of course) on Jan 17.

There is no longer an ETA in my paypal dispute. I emailed PP, got the automated response, then got a no-answer from a real person…

How long does this process generally take?

I’m not 100% sure, but don’t you still have to click on the option that says you’re still not satisfied with the resolution in order to escalate it for PayPal to decide on?

I think the last time I did it that is right. Your suppose to try and work it out under the dispute, then if you can’t come to agreement then let paypal decide. Only takes a day or two unless paypal needs more info.

Thanks, yes I did see that prompt in paypal and I did escalate it further. It came up right after the seller responded on Jan 17.

FWIW I did contact the seller before all this… I was told to be patient and wait for the shipment. After 3 more weeks I went straight to PP.

Looks like its stuck somewhere. Usually shows up in tracking closer to your destination in about a week.

It might still be on its way. I usually don’t see a tracking update again until after it has cleared customs, and sometimes not even then. 5 weeks is a long time for no update, but not unheard of. I wouldn’t consider it lost until it has been 8 weeks.

For orders going to USA you should see “INBOUND INTO CUSTOMS” upon arrival to the US. Your order never made it to the US. Seller is obliged to reship or refund in this circumstance.
You did the right thing filing PP claim, now you just need to pursue it.

Is there a way to respond “I never received product”, or is it in the hands of Paypal to make a final decision?

It’s pretty bad they waited a month before shipping the product to you, unless they told you it was on backorder. 5 weeks is an awful long time for an item to be in the transit, but not unheard of. I’ve had a few packages take 8 weeks. China to Michigan by way of Europe, Istanbul, then through NY and back to Michigan world tour.
