of the shipping fees
.
Tell me Amount US $
and payment method
“PayPal link”?
.

Ok, so maybe I got bored…

Yesterday I turned a handle, didn’t have a bracket to attach it too and it bugged me all night. So today I went out to the shop and dug out the 20+ year old G10 plate that started life designed to mount a surgical machine that is used for knee replacements. This plate is about 13/16” thick, extremely dense and stable material. A little time on the table saw, some fancy footwork on the drill press, a little hand sanding and polishing and voila! Bracket.

+1

I can understand LT may have miscalculated the registered mail incidence for such a big light… It would be unfair if they ended up losing money on this GB because we asked for this option. I would be willing to pay extra for registered if that can solve this issue.

Send me info about shipping. DHL express doesnt work in my country with people - only with companies. But there are others mail servises. Epacket can include <2kg each. But LiIon separately.

Maybe we could organize a donation link like PayPal/me with fixed payment of 3$…
I am sure that 1000 people from the list would agree to send that small amount for helping the LT to cover the expenses for shipping with registered shipping and some DHL shipments that costs more than usual?

Just an idea, and I know that 3000$ wouldn’t cover all remaining packages to be sent but it would help a lot for rest of 850 that are still waiting…

Sometimes like this in the OP

Just a example, don’t use the link

Free shipping was declared. They could think and check before

Oh yeah that’s what it should be, but since their problem is affecting this project from being done properly, I suggested a small amount that everyone could afford…

As I said it’s just proposition

I added this to post #2.

Thanks for list Sonofspectrum

Thanks seery,

I haven’t had a lot of luck with my knurling tool so this started out as an experiment to try another way, which was a fail. My lathe can cut threads down to 8 tpi, or 3.50mm, so I was trying this as a measure to use my thread cutting tool to cut checkering, only I can’t reverse my drive independent of my chuck. The handle here is 8 tpi, pretty grippy for a big screw! lol

I could use the checkering tool, maybe go about the hollow handle a little differently for time savings, but even then it wouldn’t match the knurling on the GT as my tool is a lot finer than what they use, probably CNC cut anyway, and while I can cut the circular rings I don’t have a mill to cut flats…

True…. but they could also, now that they apparently have checked; just cancel orders & refund money.
I think NikolaS has a very good idea……

I understand many people have the right to complain about Lumintop and their communication with us, but let us not forget their willingness and enthusiasm to take part in this crazy project, low GB price that is almost unreasonable to offer, and speed they had during the construction of prototypes. Everyone makes mistakes, even Lumintop, so do not be too hard on them. They could refund us the money any time and offer you the GT at its full retail price + shipping. Give them time to sort this issue out.

Otherwise this GB will turn into a nightmare for both us and Lumintop, not to mention its potential impact on other manufacturers in all future projects. If we go on like this, nobody will not be willing to build anything for us, a small group of constantly complaining customers, who pay just the production cost and shipping fees of a great, unprecedented flashlight, and still expect a prompt and trouble free purchase, with no taxes paid upon delivery on top of that.

Contact Neal about this. He is the one that you would need to talk to.

The cost for shipping varies by destination, I think most destinations average out to around ~$40 from what I could gather, which is about what they budgeted for the shipping costs for the GT based on other information I have put together.

The issue is that some of the smaller countries are costing upwards of $85 and needless to say that is not exactly great for lumintop.

You can’t really blame them too much for missing this either, they have never shipping orders this big before so it is all new for them. Plus looking up the prices for every possible country is not practical from someone that has personally shipped well over 25k orders over the years.
