You don’t need to use 8 cells in the GT.
The long battery tube is for balance as i understand.
I plan to leave one carrier empty.
8 cells were never about the need for them with an xhp35. It was about balance. The short tube version is horribly unblanced and literally hurts your wrist to hold for any length of time.
Not to mention it looks silly.
AllenT: RobertB:Martin, what light is this? Someone posted it on flashlight fanatics
That’s what i’ve been thinking about. 4*18650 will be always enough for a XHP35 Hi.
I think 8 cells are kind of waste.

I see. That’s what the long tube for.

I agree. The only have experience with the long tube but the short seems like it would torque the wrist a good bit.
Because that’s what I would do to kill the GT 130mm Reflector! :+1:
Definitely Mateminco/Astrolux, same tube and head machining as MF02.

So it’s module design too. There must be dual heads for this one.
Can’t wait to see the dual heads of two big heads.

the GT development was noticed by the other manufacturers as well…
i was told they planned to stay quiet until the gt groupbuy is finished because they do not want to interfere.
someone did not.
I have known it for over 2 weeks just that this light will come
Same for me I was told not to tell anyone else about BG/Matemineco is going to bring a GT pendant

You can likely put a MF01 head on the other end for balance
Is it should mf1>mf2>mf3>mf4 (quality)?
patmurris:Different/better led - more output… more throw…? Just a question…
Better LED is relative.
Toss a Flat black in the GT and it should do around 2Mcd.
Or toss an XHP70.2 and it does ~8000 lumens with ~1200m of throw.
The only real option that will net you gains in both throw and lumens is the sst-90 or whatever it is. BUT that LED costs around $150 for the LED alone. So gonna guess they are not using that lol.
$150 for an LED ? That is nuts.
TA sst-90 100$ ??? are you sure? I see 30 bucks

I think it’s CFT-90

This is one bad boy. :sunglasses:
Yeah, CFT 90. More info here.
sma in the German TLF forum has tested the Luminus CFT-90, the new high-power LED from Luminus. This LED has a 9mm^2 Die, no dome and is rated for up to 27A. It’s factory mounted on a large copper pcb. sma tested it up to 45A (I had guessed beforehand that it goes up to at least 40A). See here. As I predicted it has a suprisingly high luminance for such a large die. It managed up to 230cd/mm^2 which is better than any XP-G2 and almost as high as the Osram Black Flat at maximum current, but with…
I’m definitely interested in this, still waiting on my GT being delivered to the UK.
All aboard!
