[Sale] Buck drivers 20, 21, 22, 24, 30mm L6, MF01, MF02/04(S), TN40S/42, BLF GT, Acebeam X45/65

Yes, it’s pretty much exactly the same as the Astrolux MF02.

Im interested! But same time wondering how much 70.2 would improve actual throw…?

70.2 would not improve throw at all, but with it it would become something similar to Acebeam K70 as allrounder with about 6500 Lumens

Right.
Vinh at Skylumen built and tested this light with a 70.2 plus a different driver and measured 6,700 lumen, 235kcd and 970 meters throw.

With a sliced dome it had 5200 lumen, 330Kcd and 1149 meters throw.

Two quick questions on the MF-02 driver.

1) Switch wiring, is just a connect/disconnect so polarity doesnt matter for that part correct?

2) Where is a good spot to get power for the switch leds?

A wiring diagram for the MF-02 switch set-up would be awesome if someone has one.

Heading to my shop to get this mod done now. Hopefully it goes well.

Switch shares a common ground with the LEds on the original, so wire this lead to G

S for switched ground from the siderswitch

The MF02 driver has one MCU controlled LED output (L) with resistor installed by default 33k

It is possible to add another LED with a resistor to the 5V Supply volatge

Lexel, bare with me. I’m out of my realm of knowledge.
I see you have boards for the TN42. What (over stock) are the advantages gained by using your configurations?

It’s mainly the different UI. NarsilM with ramping, blinking out battery voltage, etc… It is usually way better than the stock UI’s.

You can also adjust the power output if you want. Up to 3A at 12v. If the stock light only had 2A for instance, you could bump it up a little to 2.5A and get a bit more output.

2.5A GT makes a bump from 663 to 707kcd on a TN42 I modded
current over 2.5A makes no sense, 2.7-2.8 on a good cooler there may be a few % gain in throw but also this mainly starts getting the LED to turn over to get blue very quick

Main advantage is the UI you can change so many things like you want the UI for your purpose

It sounds like the UI of the GT, which I like.
Assuming the board is plug/play, are the boards, electronics better quality? What type of output gain (reach/throw?) is .5A going to give?

the TN42 was driven at about 2.25A

as I wrote 663 to 705kcd measured with 2.5A

of course I can do any output current as you wish

That’s the barrier. I don’t know what output I wish because I have no knowledge.
My TN42 arrives Monday. I’ll compare it to others and maybe get a better idea and %’s.

Thanks Lexel, Jason

I want one please, as well as the switch with CW leds. Thank you!

I’ve realised that I’d much prefer my MF-02’s in NW. Since I don’t dare to reflow the LED myself, I was wondering if there’s a star that will fit, with an XHP35 NW already mounted?

I’ve got two lights, one with a defective driver. So if I manage to replace the star in one, I’d be happy to do the same with the other, and replace the faulty driver with the one that uses Narsil.

Really large diameter 12 volt Stars are very hard to find right now. Maybe you could find someone in the UK with the blf GT who wants to swap emitters or maybe there is a person who knows how to do reflows for you. I know Mountain Electronics is offering a Reflow service but he’s in the United States so I don’t know if it’s worth it due to the shipping costs.

Maxtoch star will fit

If you send me the star and LED I can do a reflow on my regulated heat plate for 2€

Superb, thanks - what’s a good place to get the emitters? Can get two of each (LED + star) sent to you - if you PM me details & price incl. one of your drivers, I can pay you via PP.

EDIT: Not sure if I was completely clear - both my MF-02 are in CW, so I’ve already got the stars. But if I can get the XHP35 NW LEDs sent to you, and the existing stars with CW LEDs, I guess the emitters can just be replaced. I’d be happy to let you keep the CW ones, as I’ve decided that I’ll only be getting NW lights in the future.

sure reflowing on a used star is no problem

Those are an option, but only if you convert them to 12v by cutting and adding a jumper wire.

Does the 26mm fit the MF02? I remember there was one light that it was too big for, but I cant remember which one. Lol

I fitted the MF02 a no name DTP 25mm XHP70 star modded to 12V

XPL/XHP35 footprint is always 12V there are no 6V ones
I wish XHP would be sold as 6/12V would make so much more options
