Haikelite MT09R Test/Review Beam video footage.

No way for MT09R XHP35 Hi over 1000m
my MT07 sliced dome is around 120,000cd. (If I remember, I sliced it myself )
I have all my database flashlights over 500+ .
I on out bounds, no tools .

Hm then you maybe have on of the faulty units (with only about 5000 lumen, would match to the pictures you have shown, both look to have the same brightness there) or Haikelites range information for the light is incorrect.

If i may ask, where did you get your light from?

I think this is the case. I’m pretty sure Pok knows what he’s doing. But of course we all should wait for more shots and measurements.

If he can shave his own LEDs, im sure he knows what to do  :+1:

So i guess Terry will be very interested in this…

If this is a sub performing light, then Terry/Haikelite USA already acknowledged this. First small batch of 5 lights (XHP35) have sub performing drivers.

I know, i meant interested in where Pok did get his light from.

I got my MT09R from dealer in my country Thailand.

Thanks for the pictures. And sorry that i associated “the land of smiles” with china, now i know better :).

Haikelite USA Official or Terry is looking for those few lights with a faulty driver that only have about 5000 lumens, maybe yours is one of them. But i dont know how to find out if the driver is the old one. Those few lights were samples for dealers, but never meant to be sold.

Thanks jason for the quick beamshot video… your camera skill is great too… by the way, i enjoy city lights too. Which country are you in?

Just a thought.

If MT09R xhp35 have no improvement with throw or lumens output over MT07 then there is no reason to buy MT09R :open_mouth:

Thanks Jason for the very high quality video. The flashlight is beautiful but the light output is a bit underwhelming. However, since this is not using the improved production driver, we can’t really judge yet.

It will outclass that from ive been reading here by far so no worry brighter and more throw then mt07… remember the mt07 uses xhp70 emitter where the mt09 will use tripple xhp35 so it will be a more focused and better beam for throw compared to the mt07.

Not necessarily, the 09 has three smaller reflectors(made into one) whereas the 07 has one much larger reflector.

Haikelite said this before,

The specs for 09R is optimistic .

The throw of triple 35-Hi is over 300 000 cd, over 1000 meter distance, with 7500 lumens. (As we are not that experience with lux test, we compared it with MT07 SMO XHP70.2 , and did a rough caculate, absolutely 09R triple is much better in throw)

The XHP70.2 is over 15000 lumens , over 650 meter throw.

So according to them the 09r is better in throw…

My skills are not great, I just happen to have a decent camera  It’s Malaysia.

Not very optimistic about the throw though. I’m getting about 109K cd for my 4500ish lumen “bad sample”.
Waiting for official measurement from you guys.

Trust me you are no where near 4500 lumen with that driver... I have one here myself that the very best I got was 4000 lumen. 9 out of 10 times it came in closer to 3500 to 3600.

I did take a measurement and at around 3800 lumen... At 5 meters I got 5200 lux... Do the math and the results are 130000 candela with an estimated throw of 721 meters and this is at a far lower output level than the light is designed.

Even if the full production model only hits 7000 lumen this will easily be a 1000 + meter thrower.

Okay just a heads up for U.S. customers. I do have 5 MT09R 70.2 here and ready to ship. I have 4 white in CW and 1 black in CW.

There are plenty more on the way. I just finished inspecting these and the are ready to ship you can find the at

He Said She Said Sales

Remember all light that you purchase from my store come with a full 2 year warranty. I will service and repair any problems here in the U.S. so no worrying about shipping to China for a repair. If you have an issue I will do the repairs myself. Even to the point that even if a light for some reason needs to be replaced.

Also please remember that any modifications at all (even though we all love to modify our lights) Voids the warranty in full.

Thanks everyone.

How do we know that our sample when we receive ,is not a defect driver ?
Most of us do not have lux/lumen meter device to measure it.

only like 4 or 5 were underperforming and those were samples meant for suppliers only, not meant to be sold to customers, so we will NOT get them so no worry. Quality is nr1 to Haikelite and happy customers.

He is exactly right..

I also need to point out that these were not bad drivers, the drivers are perfectly fine and work exactly as they are designed to. When the driver was ordered originally it was just a miscalculation and the driver was designed to push out a couple of amps less that what we really need for 7k lumen...
