Like that Amutorch. Buy the host for $3x, add dedomed SST-40, add FET+1 driver, improve thermal and electric path and have a 300 kcd light for <$50. Not bad me thinks.
What is the UI like ?i ordered this one bcaue the UI seems usable ad throw numbers were appealingā¦
Any way of reducing the sense resistor to increase current maybe ?
I ordered two, got 2. Each one has a different driver, different UI - dunno which is the "newer" one - think it's the red driver, dunno for sure.
If you get the red Shadow driver, then the power switch is ON/OFF, e-switch is mode changing - 2X is strobe.
If you get the green Shadow driver, you can use the e-switch to turn it ON and OFF, and the 2X click is turbo, which is more amps than the hi/turbo of the red driver.
 - what a disaster, but mine are getting a FET+1 or 3 channel driver anyway.
Good catch. Though more like AL35-1.
Comparing with SS35-1 it has a different keys attachment (worse for me). And SMO reflector.
I said it once and will repeat: Iām in for AL35-3.
Hum, those references would be to aluminium construction, right?
As far as I recall the SS35 has a weird looking beam (greenish) and puts only 400lumens from a 18350. Maybe a ā3 ledā version could be interesting yes, if the output raises accordingly
Thanks for the link freeme! Despite not being able to read Chinese and despite not all the information can be translated to english (therefore not being able to read the specs), it was easy to see the 2nd light you showed!
Looks like the Jaxmnve M3! But the modes H-M-L-Strobe-SOSā¦ :person_facepalming: Too much old school!
The first one, āAL35ā, looks nice despite the beam issue! Thanks for showing these and other less know lights and please keep doing that
I have two of this light! (different brands, same light) One from Amazon and one from Gearbest.
I really like it! I think the best low price budget light Iāve ever got!
Hereās some info on it:
The light is sold almost everywhere under MANY different brands. Ebay, Amazon, Aliexpress, Gearbest, Fasttech, etc. etc.
The one I got from Amazon has a noticeably more neutral tint than the one from Gearbest.
.(Gearbest has two brands of this, a no-brand (one I got) and an HKV brand.
Fasttech version you linked shows Hi > Mid > Lo but most versions of this are stepless dimming/ ramping.
.Could be a misprint on Fasttech, they do that a lot.
The Good:
Itās very bright
Tint is not too cold 5000-6000K
Switch extremely easy to find in the dark (big protruding red bezel ring) Switch is very effortless to click, feels nice.
Always starts on High :+1: Simple UI: Single click ON - click again OFF :+1: :+1: Hidden strobe - double click :+1:
Ramping UI :+1: 4 seconds from H to L flashes twice at lowest and at highest.
Well defined hotspot, deep reflector has decent throw
Springs on both ends inside fits about any battery I tried
USB charging cover fits flush and snug
Glass lens
The Bad:
Switch is very effortless to click, feels nice, however can easily switch on accidentally.
No way to lock-out, cannot mechanical lockout (non-anodized tail threads)
.Because of these two cons I donāt recommend for pack or carry around, makes an EXCELLENT home utility light though.
The reflector is threaded in and the MCPCB is mounted within the reflector, (I havenāt disassembled further than just enough to see that)
.
The one I got from Amazon: (2-mode version) description shows H > SOS but is actually ramping with double click strobe not SOS, description also shows zooming but it ās not. Amazon.com
Fasttech has a 26650 zooming version (UltraFire branded) comes with free knife. 26650 zooming version also sold everywhere under MANY different brands. https://www.fasttech.com/product/7455401
