Skilhunt H03 Review

How do u “install” the headband? we have been 2 people now at this for 2 hours, Is the instructions even right? man they are hard to understand. This should not be sold as a flashlight but as a puzzle. How to do it?

I got this pictures to look at: Imgur: The magic of the Internet But still, I dont understand. I can build computers, rcplanes, choppers, repair cars, u name it, but F”#%” this is hard.

Edit: Done, became a bit easier when u knew somehow how to do it… Thanks for the information! :innocent:

Yeah I was struggling with that a bit too two days ago. Best thing is to google for some pictures. One clue is that you do not need to insert one plastic end to another plastic end to make a loop (like you do with a belt for your pants). You insert the rubber band via the centre spliced part of the plastic thingy.

Scroll down for pics of head band. https://trektools.ru/reviews/obzor-nalobnogo-fonarya-skilhunt-h03/

That looks perfect now slide every thing along?

if you want to tighten more just move the top headband across more the other way and tighten the side band around your head?

I ordered two of these to replace my aging(10+ years old) camping headlights. Needless to say the HO3’s are brighter on medium low tier setting than old lights on high, and with longer run time.

They are amazing for the money. I dropped Nichia 219C 4000k 90+ CRI LED’s into mine as for a headlamp especially i care about tint/CRI alot more than throw or total output. Turned out great.

Hello Chris , I’m not sure that I’m understanding what you mean by quickly double clicking to get to mode 2 , it sounds to me that you think you can set it to either mode 1 or mode two.
The way I understand how mine works is that it is very similar to zebra lights UI ,
Eg it has low ,medium ,high & turbo , & it has a sub setting on each which will be remembered ,in other words it has 4 settings with a choice of 2 outputs for each one.
Is this what you were saying or have I misunderstood ?

This is how mine function as well.

Also as far as I can tell when turbo 1 ( 900lm) thermally steps down to turbo 2 (490lm) it doesn’t step back up when it’s cooled , is this right?

Will XHP50.2 fit under H03 TIR?

How many of you still have and use yours?
Issues?

I’ve just purchased a H03. Driver swap in the future.

I still use mine, although not often. I use it for close up work in the house (with the head band), so the diffused beam is really a requirement. This is also the reason that I haven’t purchased another angle light with a regular reflector. No issues so far.

Still in use as my jacket-EDC.

Issues, none so far. But it now has a LH351D 4000K and a Lexel driver running Anduril.
Hint: 16mm MCPCBs fit VERY snugly from the driver-side. Better sand them down to 15mm

The only thing I would also upgrade is the magnet. While it works, it doesn’t have “too much” like the Emisar D4

No issues with mine. I use mine for close-up work and taking out the garbage.

No issues with mine, I like it a lot. Just used it last night b/c I had to replace a tail light for my wife in the dark.

Ive ordered some magnets. On waiting list for a lexel driver.

Thanks for the reports. I just found a post that someone’s turbo was only 300ish

Any of you all have any issues with this light? I am looking to pick one up to use for caving wondered about durability and what you guys thought it long term

I’ve had the older Skilhunt H02 for several years now. I live in the US desert Southwest, and give four wheel drive tours of the desert East of Palm Springs. The H02 stays in my backpack full time, and gets bounced around a lot and is routinely exposed to over 100 degree (F) temperatures. It’s used one or two times a week during the winter, when we give “sunset” tours. No problems with this light. I just ordered one of the H03’s that Gearbest had on sale for 11 11.

While it’s probably not considered true caving, I also used the H02 in several talus caves when I went hiking at Pinnacles Natl Park two years ago.

In Russia, H03 is very popular among cavers. I alredy ordered about 25-30pcs to my friends from caving club. So it is good enough.

Great for me, still use it most nights, had no issues so far, probably 2-3 years of use now

I finally joined the H03 club yesterday. It looks like a good quality light with a nice UI.

Trying it on my head it’s a bit heavy though. OK for short tasks, but I wouldn’t want it on my head when I go out walking. I’ll stick to my Nitecore TIP or even some single AA light for that duty.

I suppose I could try the 18350 mod if I can figure out how to remove the original tube from the head.
