Non Flashlight orders/received

Thanks, Glenn! Probably too big for me then. I’ve got small wrists. :frowning:

Nice watch though.

My wrist is approximately 7.25” to 7.5”. It depends on the temperature.

I like it a lot! I’ve taken 136 images so far trying out things. It’s better than the old one in low light and the flash coverage is better too. I appreciate having the aperture priority exposure mode and the easy “turn the rear dial”way you can shift the aperture/shutter selection when using program AE. Lots to learn; but simple to pick up, select AE and go and get acceptable images. Oh, I also like the “macro” AF too, but the old TZ4 had that too.

Fat Tuesday… pregame…

I’ve been thinking hard about this one myself. You replaced the one I also have (DMC-TZ25)
I would be very interested hearing your feedback :+1:

So far I have taken a hundred+ images, mainly just to try out “this thing and that thing”. I am taking a weekend away from home and plan on shooting a fair number of pictures to work the camera, see the features at work, etc. More on that later.

I do very much like the EVF, electronic viewfinder. Yes it is smallish but having it is so much better for much outdoor work. The EVF has a diopter adjustment; +/- 4. I can clearly see everything in the EFV… it is an exact duplicate of what is seen on the 3” display on the camera back. Love that!!!

It is also going to be very nice to be able to use the aperture priority mode (or manualmode) when I want to. I use those heavily with my DSLR. The 25 mm wide is also something I love… I have been a very wide angle lens fan for decades. This isn’t what I would call very wide, but is very nice.

It is a little larger than the older Lumix compacts, but it still will make for a great travel camera, IMO.

There is a feature called HDR. When used the camera takes 3 images in rapid succession. Basically that means one image under exposed by 1 or 3 EV (user set or left to auto), one normal EV, the third overexposed by 1 or 3 EV. Then the camera combines those into a single image. I played with it this morning. It works well, though if you do manual shots with your own exposures and then using PC based software like Photomatix Pro HDR you can get better results with an expanded hi-low range. But that costs extra and takes extra work in both recording images and then post camera work.

I think I made a winner decision.

Lots to learn and remember

Don, glad you’re happy with your new camera. Nothing worse than getting something you spent a lot of money on and you’re not 100% satisified.
Anyway, I just ordered a GE myTouchSmart wall timer to replace my complicated user unfriendly timer. I already own the plug-in model and I have to say I’m 100% happy with it’s function and ease of programming.

Got 2 replacement 20,000-gallon Watts water filters, one for my ice maker, the other one for my kitchen sink drinking water. I’ve been using them for the past 18 years. They work great for about 5 years. That said, our water company provides high-quality water to begin with. This is just another level above that.

Currently mounted on an acrylic plate for testing.

Grabbed this little gem today. Literally grabbed. Was walking out of a local Dollar General here in my small town of 1500 people and there are two idiot 13 year old or so boys setting this thing off every time someone walks buy, scaring the hell out of people. I see them doing it on my way in. So, on my way out I walk swiftly up behind him, snatch it out of his hand and keep walking to my car. Got in and came home. Needless to say the police show up at my house about 30 minutes later. I explained what they were doing and explained what I did. After listening to me he just kind of smiled, apologized for bothering me and congratulated me on my new new cheap gun show taser. Now I want to see what kind of goodies are on the inside.

I don’t blame you! BTW, this bulb is NOT listed as dimmable. Doesn’t matter where I’m using it. I’m going to order a couple more.

It looks great with the shade on.

Oooh, niiiice.

And from Joisey should be pretty quick.

Very cool. The wife happened to walk buy as I was looking at that bulb. Guess you know what I have to order now.
