[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Remember, if this thread goes off the rails again, it will be locked until CNY is over, I would prefer to not have to do that….

Guys, take a look at skylumens website!

Martin posted a picture on FB, please let me be so free to tell BLF

I like the ceracote!

If Vinh puts a CFT-90 in this host—-I would think it will go past $1000

I sure hope not, I plan on sending mine for that mod at some point.

What makes you think the price would be that high? He has lights in that range sure, but mostly these are lights that are 5-600$ to begin with and require mods where multiple leds are swapped, drivers are swapped, etc. which also raises the hours he has to spend modding.

I would expect the BLF GT with the mod would be around 600$.
The GT costs 250, the CFT-90 costs around 110 dollars iirc. I guess it would require a new driver? Not sure on that. But then it would still just be a driver and a single led swap.

I just gave a general statement for that Ceracoat Host——Look at his website of past Ceracoat lights——-$$$$$

It sounds like he’s making a new driver for it

Aah okay, I misunderstood. I’ve seen those coatings before but never looked at the prices.

RMM Richard is….

Correct, it will need to be a buck driver to really drive that LED properly and that is a fair task to fit all the needed components into a 46mm driver and handle that kind of power.

It can be done but it will be interesting to see how it is done. I know of a few possible options that could do it.

I was just informed that neither mine nor my brothers GT shipped. Which means they both are in the last group of 50 poor orphaned abandoned marooned forgotten lights… With this luck they will be delivered in April… Please help me overcome this ordeal by posting some beamshots or mods.

Go buy some very nice knives from GearBest. They come faster than GT. I depleted my fund for 2nd GT buying 15 knives so far.
I am among the last 50 too. No choice, just wait for it patiently, after CNY, things will move faster.

Thank you, but I want beamshots, not another money pit on top of those that I am already addicted to

That’s looks great!

How the heck did they get the logo back on after they redid the coating?

Maybe they re-engraved it with their own laser?

I can’t tell from the picture if the switch/logo section was even coated. Anybody know for sure?

I was thinking about the same thing Jason ww. It looks as good as if Lumintop did it themselves in the factory.

Yes, Jason was doing all the work of the Team, so he is part of the team as far as I am concerned and apparently I am in charge now so I guess that is that lol.

Jason handles communication in the thread as I don’t have time to dedicate to it and he handles the repeat questions a lot better then I do.

Jason has been a MASSIVE help.

Did you see the 1789x3817 resolution picture in my link? The entire light is coated.

Cerakote is basically sprayed on a part like paint and then baked in an oven.

If you look at the Cerakote sample page you can see a TN42 also with the factory looking logo on it.

I’m thinking someone scanned the original logo and then re-lasered it back on the light. I think laser engravers are pretty cheap nowadays. I’ve seen some for $50. Maybe Vinh spent a few hundred bucks to get a “decent” one for his Cerakote service. Or whoever does the service for him has a laser engraver. It’s the only explanation I can come up with.

It definitely adds the finishing touch to the lights.

Yep I did see that. I am just seeing a lot of black in the GT pictures. It may be shadows or my eyes. I just could not tell for sure on the GT.

On the sample page most of the other colors are very easy to see.

Appreciate the answer. :+1: …

Hope it doesn’t close, but just in case (an early) Happy New Year everyone!
