Thrunite TC20 - XHP70 - 3800lm

Did you order a Nw or cw version?

NW, didn't do any wall hunting with it but it looked great outside, very pleasing tint.

I hear rumour of a Lumintop competitor coming out shortly. Similar size and specs. And it looks great IMO. The Lumintop ODF30. Thoughts anyone? (Sorry, don’t mean to de-rail the thread)

I saw that… group buy is around $63.

Great sounds like they’re in stock now, I see they’re in stock at amazon too, both CW and NW. They need to change that ship date notice.

Only 4 days shipping!wow that’s fast, so I guess they shipped from USA not China?

Definitely not worth, this price is without battery and with battery is $2 more expensive :confounded:

More info on the ODF30 please. If there’s a link that would be great

In regards to the TC20, Since I got the tube issue orientation sorted out, mine has been great and I like it a lot. The included 5000mah 26650 has been really good

There won’t be too much more info until the CNY is done. This is the only info I can find:

Thanks so much for the information and for the link

ODF30 is very interesting.

It appears they tried their best to make a comparable flashlight, even the (introductory) price is the same, but there needs to be something special that says “Buy me instead”

The 3 lower modes are a lot higher, not sure if that’s good or bad, depends on the user, just sayin’

Mode TC20 ODF30
Turbo 3800lm 3500lm
High 1800lm 1800lm
Med 320lm 540lm
Low 38lm 150lm
FF/ML 5lm 8lm
  • I don’t see an option for NW?
  • Looks like a rubber switch boot, good or bad? Again, depends on user preference.
  • Not sure what Limuntop does for their UI’s but I don’t think there’s a better UI than what the TC20 has, it’s become my favorite UI.
  • Dimensions are basically the same, but for some reason the Lumintop appears slightly longer, optical illusion I suppose…
  • Personally I prefer knurling, especially the awesome “near tool grade” knurling on the TC20, its better knurling than any other flashlight I own. The only light that even comes close in my collection is my old XENO Eo3 v2. (I’m a freak for aggressive knurling)

I perfer the modes on the tc20, specially the .5 lumen moonlight. Thrunite is a premium brand IMO, the lumintop would have to be drastically less expensive for me to buy it.

Thanks for your input, I agree with all of your points.

Especially the knurling point. As a ex-machinist, I LOVE aggressive knurling. Honestly most lights have feeble useless knurling that turns me right off of even considering the light.

I agree, I loved my xeno and the awesome knurling on it.

I think I'll stick with the TC20, the only thing I might wish for to make it almost perfect is an additional mode at around 750/800lm.

Please make a separate thread for the Lumintop ODF30.

I got my tc20 Cool white today. This tc20 is very small and I like it… I am going to use shockli imr 26650. Probably no need to use imr, but I am always above and beyond… can’t wait for the dark…

Wow. Thats all i can say. I run 100% high mode for 3 minutes using shockli IMR. I dint notice any stepdown. I thought this light is going to get hot when i try to turn off the switch at 3:02. The body of the light is warm. I know i can run the highest mode little longer, but i dont want to ruin the led and driver… amazing light with the great heatsinking… i might try to do another 3 minutes run tomorrow using the oem thrunite 26650.

Your welcome, It’s nice to know someone agrees on the knurling, (and the xeno!) :+1: :+1:

Yeah wimpy knurling on so many lights - that always kills me, some so faint it makes me wonder why they even bothered - even worse ones with no knurling. Similar to you probably, because I’m an ex mechanic and “tool” guy. I guess some complain it’s not “pocket friendly”, I say horsefeathers!

I’m sure someone will.

I don’t see the problem with a mention of it here though. Completely relevant since it’s the first real competitor size-wise. Acebeam and other lights have been mentioned plenty of times in this thread already, making discussion here helpful for pre-purchase decision making.

I didn’t mean to derail with my one-post comparison (probably seemed like a big post because I included a chart!) but don’t worry I wont be delving into an extensive discussion on the Lumintop here.

This thread plus a number of rave reviews on YouTube persuaded me. NW TC20 ordered.

You can’t go wrong with either nw or Cw. XHP70.2 and XHP70 have different tint in the low mode.
