ENEDED

Thanks a lot for disappointing me - and preventing from wasting money.
Both battery fitment and thick bezel matter to me - I wanted a superb host and this doesnā€™t seem to be as good.

I also read this before, but personally it didnā€™t discourage me, I really want a SS bezel so it was actually good to read: ā€œitā€™s a nice chunk of SSā€, and the head is only 4mm larger than the DS1.

And the battery issue should be easy fix, shorten a spring or add a ring of copper wire for length, and some sanding in the tube if it wonā€™t fit a LittoKala IMR Lii-50A

I should have noted that I expected a lot. I expected Shockli 26550 fitment. I expected reflector diameter about half way between ut02 and d1s. I hoped for enough space for inductor. I hoped for overall quality better than ut02ā€™s. I already have ut02. If I didnā€™tā€¦I would still prefer UTorch, but not without giving Maeerxu a couple of thoughts.

Had to go ahead and order one. Got black but green would be pretty nice for a change. If one is offered I would probably get another in green. It really looks nice in the photos.
Posted code worked.
And now the long wait beginsā€¦

Thanks freeme.
I ordered from your link here: Freemeā€™s Link

I like it so far but the UI is a bit different and will take a little getting used to.

Hereā€™ a couple quick pictures until I can spend a litle more time on it.

M8 arrived in this little protective case. Took 10 days total time from ordering from Bangood to USA

Maeerxu M8 included a spare lens, O-rings, lanyard, and micro USB charging cable.

Itā€™s got a nice deep smooth reflector, and a stainless bezel.

The illuminated side switch comes on while the light is in operation and while charging. I placed a 26650 cell next to it for size comparison.

The Maeerxu M8 looks like it will be a good thrower, and it reminds me of the D1S by Emmisar. Itā€™s got a really nice hot spot. Iā€™m excited to wait for nightfall.

:+1: Looks good, thanks for posting. Iā€™m still holding out / hoping for green to appear.

Does anybody know the tint? Cool tint available? Green color available? I see no options to selectā€¦

Only one version on Banggood, itā€™s NW 4000K (see post #30)

Green not available on Banggood yet either, Iā€™m still hoping/waiting for that to happen.

Just ordered a M8 through Freemeā€™s link. Funny, I just received an order from Hank with spare parts, and it came in one of those plastic boxes

Dirty_Pierre ,What emitter inside ?

What is the diameter and depth of reflector? Looks like a nice host for mods and the price is reasonable.

Itā€™s suppose to be an XPL-HI, but Iā€™m also curious what Pierre has identified in his sample.

Banggood lists it as ā€œXPLā€ but according to TomE (Post #30) ā€œitā€™s a 4000K XPL HI LED ā€

Also Freemeā€™s photos (Post #8) show an XPL-HI

XPL has dome but XPL-HI does not correct?
I havenā€™t torn it apart yet but looking closely thru lens I believe the emitter in the M8 I received to be XPL HI LED like TomE posted. Itā€™s seems identical to my D1S ( XPLHI V2 5D 4000-4125KTint NW) in appearance, tint, and intensity.
I havenā€™t gotten to play with it much yet, but it seems to not get as hot as quickly as my D1S. Itā€™s nice compact thrower. Looking forward to examine it more.

how is the ramp function?

slow from low to high?

Yes thatā€™s correct. XPL-HI is domeless.

In the OP it shows 6 seconds:

Stepless Dimming
ā— In on status,Press 1 second to activate Stepless Dimming Mode
-From moon to turbo need 6 seconds, release the switch can memorize the brightness

ā€¦

ā€¦

But I would also like someone to confirm this, how many seconds from lowest to highest, and visa-versa.
And also does it blink/flash when it reaches the lowest and/or highest brightness?

In post #30 Tom stated: ā€œThe ramping is klunky - not consistentā€
But Iā€™m not clear on what he means exactly by that.

Also if possible, please report if the MCPCB is Noctigon, as seen in the photo in post #8.

Yeah I saw Tom review about the ramp too and Iā€™m still holding back buying this light :frowning:

What I can tell so far this is the closest thing to a D1S with 26650, knurling and Stainless bezel, (everything I wish for on the D1S) so Iā€™m totally down with it. I probably wonā€™t use the ramping that much anyway, but at least it has it.

Only thing holding me back now is waiting for the Green color version to surface.

More Pics:

Thatā€™s the quick and dirty of it for tonight, it got late on me.

As far as the ramping goes it is slow. It does blink slightly at max.
With the slow ramping perhaps its saving grace is the instant access to lowest from off. Single click.
Instant access to turbo from off. Double click.

More as time allows, Iā€™ll toss a video up of the UI when I get a chance.

Can you measure reflectors width and height please?
