Deal Extreme--I'm DONE Dealing!

So, after a series of orders (mostly cancelled orders because of their having them out of stock without telling anyone), I received the last of my DX orders a week ago. One of the two items received was a Fandyfire X8, which, at first, I liked. And, despite listings, it operated in direct drive at 4.2 volts rather than the stated 7.0 volt minimum. And I don't get to use it for several hours until it quit working. Then, after some fiddling with, it flickered--with and without movement. Finally, it stopped working altogether. Nothing, nada.

I tried to contact support, but the way their set-up is, if you have a ticket open about your order, you can't write them until they answer that ticket. I have tried multiple times and have only gotten back "We are refunding your money" responses about the items I already cancelled and received a refund for. All I asked for was a store credit for a new light. The other headlamp they sent actually works. I can't seem to get through to anyone. Does anyone know a straight email address that they can be reached by?

So this does it for me. I'm sick of the delays and generally long response times between emails, and now this was the kicker.

Yeah, I share your frustration. Just do a charge back or open a paypal dispute then they will listen. But they will still more than likely not solve your problem. It's just the way they seem to deal over there.

I recently made two orders with DX. 16th Jan and 6th feb, 16 jan not processed and the 06 feb on backorder. Also they do not appear in my order list I have to find them via the order number from my email. WTF why why why why why did I give them another chance.

my UF headband is on backorder too, with MF.

With DX, i had once a backordered item and it *never* got back in stock (the flashlight silicone OIL 2pack). Was hell difficult to get a refund on the unshipped item. If DX shows "backordered", in future i will cancel right away. If MF shows "backordered" .. i need to see what that is about.

DX, DD and KD will never get a penny off me. Manafont is on thin ice as well. I'm tired of the one week elapsed to get a response to every single email on a dispute that has been going on since 12/19. Saving a few bucks is not worth the total aggravation when something goes fubar. Future overseas business will only be given to those that actually show some semblance of understanding customer service = CN Quality and Intl Outdoor. I haven't used HK Equipment before.

My Orderlist from DX is quite long. Arround 50 orderes from 2009 -2012 Until the end of 2011 i was always pleased. Sure, Delivery took 3-5 Weeks, but the prices where low that times.

I only had one cancel because it was "backorder" for a long time and they told me after quite a while that it wont be in stock again. I got a refund 7 days later, which im fine with.

But i must admit, that the average delivery/processing Time since 2012 has increased ! It always took long, but nowadays it takes ages.

My conclusion about DX is: Buy things, forget you bought them and be happily suprised after 8 Weeks if the postman is on your door :-)

I had to use paypal twice with DX.

I will use them again but if it says back ordered then I will cancel it ASAP.

Just got notified that my order shipped from DX...I ordered it Dec 19th, didn't even remember it.

I like Manafont the best, in terms of dealing with overseas sites. No CQG for me, no more KD, no DD.

i was looking for the UF head strap (headband).

only KD has it.

so i placed the order with them.

I'm done ordering from DX as well. Last order was back ordered, and they kept saying it will come in soon. I just cancelled it. Then I tried ordering an item that was in the US Warehouse - ha, what a joke. Said it would ship within a few days or something. A month goes by and I just cancelled it.

The only overseas retailers I will deal with now is CQG, Intl-outdoor, and solarforce-sales.

That's a very good list. HKE has done well by me, too.

The only thing I can say about DX is that it’s slow and the communication if frustrating.
On the other hand you can cancel an order, you will get a refund, and IMO it’s really never necessary to use chargebacks or file claims with PayPal.
It may make you feel like you have more control or like it forces the hand of DX but I haven’t heard of anyone never receiving a refund or product even if they did nothing. It’s just slow.
I use Manafont or T-mart when they have the item I’m looking for. Manafont because they are easy to work with and T-mart only because you get your item fast.
I don’t place larger orders or buy expensive items from any of them however.
At this point there are very few times when any of them have something I want anyway.

You’ll see all your recent orders.

Ordered the Jacob A60 rigt before the CNY and it's still backordered.

For now, I'm letting it be, faithful that the lights will eventually arrive on stock, since they are a brand new product and noone else seem to list them.

A 55mm head on an XR-E emitter is worth some patience, IMO. Wink

The 1.5A driver that I ordered from KD for that light, came in today.

Nope. When they lost the order, they lost the order. It won't show in the account management beta thingy, it won't show in new dx.com website... it's gone to limbo. Happened to me too. Paypal dispute was necessary to see your money again.

I cancelled an order from DealExtreme, and I did not get a refund through DX. I had to file a claim with PayPal.

Now you have heard of someone (me) that did not get the refund or product through DX. I had to file a claim with PayPal to get my money back. And that is why I am almost completely fed up with DealExtreme.

Nothing personal, but when people advise against filing a PayPal claim, that makes me sick.

Also, to get law enforcement off my arse, I'm DONE dealing! ;)

I found my order. Now what to do. I can cancel the back order but the other one?

Your other order - does it show in that acct management or not? If not then I think they've lost that order, just like mine.

Either:

1. Give them YET another chance and file report (they have specific page for missing order, must have happened a lot)

2. File PP dispute as Payment not acknowledged.

1st method - use at your own risk. 2nd method works for me. I try not to use DX cancel order because on two occasions DX try to return 96% of payment only, despite the cancellation being their fault.

I was lucky with DE. I ordered 2 items and they came in a tick over 2 weeks. But then I started reading all their forums. Yikes! seems they have tanked big time since December. The same excuse was "chinese new year". After I read all the stories, I cancelled the order before it got processed for shipping. Now, Im waiting for a credit card refund. We shall see. Dino D. so far as had decent customer service- although Iam waiting for stuff within normal time frame. They actually have a chat window that works. Online flow chart when everything is on its way. Just be aware that sometimes Amazon has the same price on a few things. Again though, I'll see if I get my items.
