*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Im interested if cheap. Wish it were a little brighter tho. 40w incandescent isnt that bright but the runtimes sound good.

Hopefully there’s some sort of update soon. I’m getting anxious.

Very Interested

Please add me to the list of those interested.

Thanks

Nice idea!

I have the prototype (from the OP) taken apart and re-working the head design for 2 LED emitters and a center post bolt ( to make it simpler & stronger, plus adding a frosted main lens to eliminate the inner globe to lower costs & make it simpler in design.
I hope to get photos of it soon and post an updated blueprint. - DB

I don’t mind the relatively low output, but I can definitely understand how it’d seem underwhelming compared to the BLF Q8. It’s designed for a totally different style of use though, where turbo isn’t very relevant… and the lower brightness should help keep the cost down a bit.

It’ll make the lightning storm mode less impressive, but that’s kind of just icing anyway.

Please leave the Lightning Storm Mode as it is, to cooooooool to change

The point she is making, is the lightning storm won’t be nearly as dramatic from the lantern because it doesn’t produce the lumens of the Q8.

I’m interested too, only one of course.

A lantern would be quite useful. Do you think it could also fit 20700/21700 cells?

Would like to know.

This is a great idea. 4 x 21700 could give 16000 to 18000 mAh. A little plastic sleeve could easily convert it for 18650.

Oh yes, that would be awesome. Downsize compatibility is a must. 21700s to 18650 adapters would be excellent.

Put me down for one please.

One for me too.

Also interested in on (1) light.

I like where this is going so far, especially when there is a true WW option.
Camping light = warm light.
At least to me that is…

Same here, I never understood folks that spend their evening outside with a cool white neon Coleman lantern. :confounded:

I’m in!

Had a situation where this light would have been the perfect solution
