Just check post one. Right now it’s Chinese New Year. Once China goes back to work Texas_Ace will let us know when he will send out the PM’s. So late Feb or early March.

Yes, issues like this will need to be dealt with but nothing we can do until the end of the month when china comes back on line.

Be sure to remind us at that point.

Lumintop already went to work, you said to remind you about the incorrect track number.

Flashlight was sent and received in the US, not in Kazakhstan

My GT arrived on thursday, and it truly is awesome. Both packages were quite moistured and the lamp itself also had some moisture on outer surfaces and inside the tube, but otherwise in good condition. Also got the batteries with the lamp, and thats really great, because ordering batteries to Finland has been impossible for the past few months.

Great work from the BLF GT crew and all the people that were making this possible
Thanks!

Man, it sucks they got wet. It’s like they got left out in the rain or something.

Lumintop needs to get their registered mail boxes sorted, as well. Some extra padding around the head is definitely needed.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics of the head taken apart for those interested. I added these to post #3.

Btw, this is my light. It’s got a different switch cover. Stock is black.

/\/\/\ Good pictures Jason!! Thank you……. Thumbs Up

After seeing these, it finally hit me what KB has been saying about the LED centering spacer “floating” on/around the two MCPCB retaining screw heads. Wink

Is there a new era of throwers? Is the GT overcome? WHITE LASER WL20 THROW 2000M. The maximum distance of up to 5000 meters. Shocked

It’s 2000m, and yes there are laser-phosphor flashlights coming in 2018 that will give a lot more throw and less lumens.
It’s not an LED flashlight though, and won’t get anywhere near the same amount of lumens.

I think I figured it out. I can shrink my hot spot down from 8” to about 6” if I remove the black centering spacer and carefully move the reflector closer to the emitter.

I don’t know if this will have a positive or negative effect when measured further away. I assume it will improve the throw, but I’m not positive.

Polarweis and Bozlight29, do you have different black centering plates? One with big hole and one with small hole? Maybe they are different thicknesses.

The black spacer looks the same. Both small hole. I think the reflector quality does make the corona a little bit brighter on my dads light. I dont think its the focus that is the problem.

Hows about swapping reflectors? That would show if it’s the reflector that’s causing that issue or not!

Initially, yes. I suspect Lumintop tightens the big bezel before tightening the upper head to the lower “light engine”. This way they don’t have to turn the bezel against the massive friction of the huge o-ring against the glass.

So I would recommend everyone to loosen the upper head first so you take all the tension off of the reflector, glass and bezel and then it should be a lot easier to turn. Using this new technique I can take my GT apart and put it back together with my bare hands.

Here is my older post on taking it apart:

I would try and find a pair of cheap rubber strap wrenches. After loosening the bezel on mine, I hand tightened it so I would be able to remove it by hand later. Nope, it’s too tight again. I had to use the strap wrenches once more. That o-ring against the lens is a real friction freak.

The head was hard to loosen, but it’s no big deal to tighten and loosen again. No tools needed after the first loosening.

I got a 2 pack of rubber strap wrenches at my local Northern Tool store for $5. Check your local stores bargain bins where the cheap tools are.

I made the battery carrier to take Flat Top cells. Check out what I did here : BLF GT review

No reverse polarity protection this way. Btw review is not completely finished yet.

What good is it with 500 lumen and a tiny pencil beam? I’m sure a few people would find it useful, but not the majority.

It reminds me of that little bitty LED that was smaller than the oslon black flat and it only had about 400 or so lumen. What was it called?

We can’t say for sure. It’s up to TA to decide when.

The description was copied from Acebeam. They have already fixed it. Also it was strange for me.

Thanks for reminding me. Anyone else with outstanding issues that I asked to wait until after the CNY, now would be the time to start reminding me about them.

You can also try sending messages to Neal directly but please, only message him if you truly have an issue that needs to be addressed, he is overloaded as it is.

I will put together a list of issues that need to be resolved and we will try to get them sorted before the next batch of PM’s.

The next batch will go out when the last 50 orders have been shipped. I hope this will happen in the next week or 2, it depends on how fast China comes back online.

I will know more next week once we see how things start coming along.

The group buy is closed, public lights will be available after the GB is finished.

Figure an average of ~100-125 lights a week with the V2 reflector tolerances and we have ~650 more lights for the GB and a reasonable guess is around 8+ weeks for the GB lights to be finished figuring at least one delay will pop up along the way.

After that it is only a matter of time for them to show up for sale in other places.

Those in the next batch, please keep in mind that it will most likely take ~8 weeks or more for the all lights to be shipped.

Woah, just to clarify:

Those in the next batch, please keep in mind that it will most likely take ~8 weeks or more for ALL of the next 650 lights to be shipped.

Correct, they will be shipping ~100 a week but for the last lights to ship it could take 8 weeks or more.

I’m still waiting patiently for my light and I do not mean to denigrate the efforts of Team GT with what I am about to say; however, it is a tad disheartening to see purchasers receiving their light in such poor packaging and not in the packaging previously posted in the thread, which I’ll refer to as official packaging. I keep all of my boxes as that is where my flashlights go when not in use. Is there a reason for the official packaging now being used that I may have missed? It is European or registered customers who receive the poor packaging? I don’t remember reading about this when I paid for my light back in December.
