Gift for the Wife

Ok guys i need help finding the right AAA to suprise my wife. Im hoping there is something out there that matches the following criteria. Thanks

  1. Space to engrave
  2. Brass, Copper or Titanium
  3. Decent output at least 100lumens
  4. Prefer Clicky but Twisty may work
  5. Head/light assembly seperate from body that way if light fails i can repair/replace head without having to scrap the engraved body.
  6. Dependable Brand/looking for longevity

Astrolux a01 but longevit for me nothing beats thrunite.

The ti3 seems a very good light but I dont know if it fill your requirements

Stick with a clicky switch, twistys are unreliable and can turn on easily, battery is dead when you need it.

Bump

Reylight Ti Lan v3?

Have the V2 says its to big :person_facepalming:

Agree 100%

Lumintop Copper Tool

Lumintop Tool Ti

Thank You, I do have 1 of each but they dont have enough room for engraving. I took Franz recomendation and looked at Thrunite, came up with Thrunite Ti5 in Titanium seems to meet all my requirments that and Dqg slim but that is out of stock.

Theres the Xeno ES1 in ti

Thats never happened with my Ti3...

Un-twist the head a 1/4 turn, that will keep it off.

And it won't come apart either!

I'm definitely not saying that you should get a twisty... but just saying that not all twisties act the way you describe.

My main issue with multi-mode twisties is that they seem to have a tendency to switch through two modes with one twist, detecting a poor contact as two separate contacts. So you try and cycle it three times to go from off through low and med to end up at high, but end up back at low.

I suspect the lube if it does that. I have to regularly wipe lube off the outer contact ring on the circuit board, and more importantly, the corresponding ring of bare metal on the end of the tube body, to maintain a quality connection.

Thrunite Ti5t. It’s a titanium aaa clicky and it has femine line to it. Tool is too manly imo and doesn’t really have space for engraving name.

What about penlights?

The Lumintop IYP365 could be worth a look.

I just got my Lumintop IYP365 and although it has beautiful appearance and tint, the controls sucks just like the four Lumintop Tools I bought. Not very useable imo. The three Astrolux A01 I have have very white tint (estimate 5700k), but is too cool for me and twisty lights suck. I like the Ultratac K18 the most for AAA but haven’t really found an ideal AAA flashlight yet. I think the Reylight Ti Lan (I don’t own one yet) from its description would be the best eneloop light but is not AAA. I’m hoping there will be a Reylight Ti Lan AAA option with the same clickable operations in the future.

I would also suggest the Lumintop IYP365 brass or Ti. Very classy, Nichia option and better runtime with 2xAAA.

I’m also partial to the Ultratac K18 which can be found in chromed SS and brass, Nichia option too, but i have to admit the UI is not obvious. Not sure about engraving space.

The BLF 348 was a very nice SS one mode AAA light but seems to be discontinued right now.

I disagree regarding twisty lights turning on easily… I EDC a couple ones and never had a problem.

I have lumintop iyp365 titanium on the way, she has the ultratac k18 already :person_facepalming:
So far the thrunite ti5t is leading the pack.

Streamlight Stylus Pro used to be quite popular, I see it has already 5300 reviews

right now it goes for $16.99
