Clone of On The Road M3 ~$13

But maybe they’re hoping someone does, and sends payment :money_mouth_face:

OK so Olight made their UI perfect.

That’s EXACTLY the same as the UI of Thrunite TC20, (except the Thrunite only has 1 turbo)
Best UI there is. I wish all my lights had this.

I got my v2 of the Jaxmnve M3 in today. On one hand and I’m glad the strobe is no longer part main cycle. On the other hand this new third level they added was in between the existing middle and high levels. :person_facepalming:

They came so close to getting the UI right, but just missed it.

The v1 has 0.39A and 1.33A.
The v2 has 0.39A, 0.65A and 1.33A.

It’s kind of a waste of a level. It needs a 0.04A, 0.39A and 1.33A to have 3 well spaced levels. (0.04A is what I measured on the lowest part of the ramping)

I’m disappointed, but at least it’s a little better than the older version.

I agree, the spacing is bad (too close together) and not a low enough low.

OK guys. Sad news. Seems like the seller doubled the price of the Jaxmnve M3.
Can anyone recommend other similar light with similar parameters (size, USB charging, batt included) under USD 15?

They didn’t double the price. $25.70 is the normal price. You just have to wait for it to go on sale again. $13 was the sale price.

There is no other lights similar for such a low price.

The OTR U16 is a little bigger and can sometimes be bought for $20 on sale which is not often.

Thanks for making it clear, Jason. :+1:
Just checked it out again and voila, they lowered the price down to the USD 13,60.

Hi all, does it have AR coated glass lens?. Anyone measured the lens diameter and thikness?

No AR coating.

The lens diameter is a little bit smaller than the standard 21mm lens size for a typical 18650 cigar sized light like a Convoy S2+.

So if you wanted to add an AR lens you need to find one that was no bigger than 20mm.

There is 20mm AR coated glas but what thikness?

1mm.

Why does it matter? Do you want to make it a bit less CW and more NW? Are you trying to get a few more % output?

I don’t understand.

For those wanting to do an emitter swap the mcpcb has a soft adhesive under it. Maybe it can be twisted slightly to break it loose.

.

Yes both, bit more lumens and bit less cool tint

Anyone else have the rubber USB cover come completely out? Can’t seem to get it back in either, tried with a flat tip dental tool but no luck, poked about 8 holes through the end of the rubber post trying. The cover kept pulling open when I’d draw the light from clipped to the inside of my pocket. I don’t like the USB cover on this.

Also my light cuts out if you smack the tail, found this out using the magnetic tail, when I stick it to a metal surface it cuts out a for split second. I tried stretching the spring but no luck, I think it’s just the length and weakness of the spring. It’s not a big deal doesn’t really bother me, just wondered if anyone else noticed this.

The usb cover is pretty flimsy, but it doesn’t usually come open on its own. Have you tried indexing it so it doesn’t catch on anything?

Mine will turn off as well when attached to metal quickly. I try to ease it into place.

I clip inside the pant pocket, so when I grasp the light by the head to draw it out I’m grasping it over the rubber. I always index my pocket clips on side switch lights to the natural gap between my thumb and forefinger when my thumb is resting on the switch, (since I’m right handed this puts the clip just to the left of the switch) I do this in order to quickly locate the switches and for comfort when holding.

One thing I could do on this light is place the clip directly opposite the switch, over the USB cover, then it would act as a protector for the cover. But on this light the clip rotates too easy, it doesn’t stay put, so it doesn’t always remain where I place it. Not sure how I’m going to get the cover back in anyhow.

Does the cover have some kind of ball shape on the end to keep it from being pulled out completely? Have you tried a tiny bit of grease to try and push it back in?

Yes it has the ball on the end, no I haven’t tried grease, good call, thanks. I’ve got to get the right tool that wont keep poking through the rubber like the dental pick I’m using, I’ll try a cut off round toothpick with some super lube next. But the cover on this doesn’t fit as flush and tight as others do.

My cover came off too but I was able to push it back in the first time using a round end dental tool. I think it may help if the tool is close to the same diameter as the hole. I don’t like this cover much either but whadda ya want for this price.

I want a better fitting cover :stuck_out_tongue:

But really I’m not stressin’ over it either because the price but just sayin’
