List of 18350 flashlights (currently available)

Hum, supposedly the Wuben TO10R should be a High CRI flashlight (using 16340 battery), but it doesn’t seem to be a High CRI light, as the TO46R also wasn’t.
Me and bilakos10 reviewed the TO10R recently.
Too bad it doesn’t take 18350s, as it would be a (even) better light! :frowning:

Thanks for the information, I was not aware of this! I hope Neal gets back to business soon!

wow, pure deception

(maukkas image edited by slider note how the red sample looks brown):

PSA: If in doubt, always skip skip lights with an XP-G3.

I find it silly that Wuben and others, post pics of green things to demonstrate CRI… that is so wrong! What is needed is Red things. otoh, if you’re trying to hide the green tint of an XPG3, then green things are the way to go.

now look at the green tint around the edge of the beam in this Wuben photo (across the ecotec logo, on the mans sleeve, and on the battery cable cover

to test for CRI, I like to shine a light on red things, including the palm of my hand, and foods like steak and salmon.

Unfortunately, almost all the lights in this thread have green tint… and are Low CRI

I know it’s in the “sub list” for “18650 lights that the Mfg. offer an 18350 tube for an additional cost” But I thought I’d point it out:

Also the Convoy deep carry clip fits:

I have the triple Nichia 219CT 5700k, it has absolutely no green tint and it renders the reds and colors very well. Although I’d like to try the 4000k someday.

.
It’s my first High CRI flashlight, and one thing I’ve learned by it is the neutral lights (that I always thought had great color rendering) actually are just tinted light, yes the greens and browns appear better looking than with cool white, but you’re not really seeing the true colors, you’re seeing colors under a slightly yellow “Tinted” light. The Nichia shows the objects true color as you would see it in normal light. Reds, browns and greens look as they should.

excellent option!
thanks for taking the time to share all the links

No problem, pics added!

Well, I don’t think he’s out of business, just his specials on M4DM4X’s site. (He’s the owner of HKEQ) HKEQUIPMENT - 照明及戶外用品

Strange though I can’t find the SS35-1 at HKEQ

Well, there’s another thing I didn’t know :zipper_mouth_face: Thanks for telling me that!
And let’s keep the quest for some more 18350s :smiling_imp:
I’ve been using my S2+ triple in that form and I like it a lot! Wish it was slimmer, but…that will fall on the 14500s category :stuck_out_tongue:

Subscribed. Pining for NW/WW with sub-lumen, realistic turbo (something that will last longer than 20 seconds), some throw, small as possible.

ah yes, Im dreaming of the perfect light also
Copper body, w N219b 4500k
My Copper olight s mini has 0.5 sublumen that I like. but its not 18350

as far a realistic Turbo, how many turbo lumens can you live with, and how long do you want it to last?

The D4 w 18350 cannot do 1000 lumens for long, looks like it could do 500 lumens for about half an hour

That’s decent. But I recently read something about problem with D4 sub-lumen mode, couldn’t quite understand it, like either it didn’t exist or was hard to land on with ramping.

The D4 does not have a sublumen mode in stock form. A few more facts
the lowest low is 1.7 lumens
No true overdischarge protection
Not compatible with protected cells
No reversed battery polarity protection
Uses PWM above 150 lumens, and has no constant output regulation above that.
Im not a fan, but plenty of people are.

Where can i get the 18350 tube for Astrolux s2 / BLF x6.

I tried using the s1 / A6 shorty tube but it just wont fit.

Thanks~

If I’m not mistaken it’s the “Eagle Eyes” tube:

But I’m not 100% sure. Hopefully someone will chime in with a definite answer.

.
I noticed today there’s an 18350 tube available for the Convoy S9 (S-series tube light with side switch):

Nice!

Just adding some information since I have the Astrolux MH10 with the 18350 tube — I think it’s one of the most throwy flashlight for its size (almost rivals the Astrolux S3/BLF X5). I got the “neutral-white” tint, but its tint is more on the warmer side (maybe 4500K) — the tint is very similar to the Convoy S2+ XP-L Hi U6-4C and the Astrolux S1 ‘5A’ warm-white (not similar to the S1 ‘3D’ 5000K neutral-white).

Real flat-top 18350 cells won’t make contact with the positive nipple (eg. PKCell ICR/IMR18350 — need a magnet spacer and it will work).
Using KeepPower UH1835 (unprotected 18350 1200mAh), it works properly (UH1835 is a slightly-raised flat-top).
The KeepPower P1835C2 (protected 18350 1200mAh) will NOT fit the 18350 tube at all, tried inserting from both ends, won’t fit.

Thanks for posting the info, that light always reminded me of the Nitecore MH20.

I wanted to add the MH10 to the list in the OP but since it’s out of production and unavailable I couldn’t.

Don’t forget El Cheapos:
XANES WT518 with BLF A6 tube
Ultrafire S5 with BLF A6 tube

Is the Ultrafire S5 still currently available? I couldn’t find it.

I see this UltraFire S5 but I think you’re referring to the older S5 “tube light” circa 2012-2013? (But maybe it’s still available somewhere?)

XANES WT518 is also sold under many different brand names, but I’ll add it to the Lego List. Thanks for reminding me about it.

In case anyone’s interested here’s a few links for the Xanes WT518:
