Had something scheduled for Wednesday, got it yesterday!
Then again, something scheduled for today was still scheduled for today (from today’s email just a coupla hours ago), even though that ain’t happening…
I got a response from Miranda on the 1st, a day after my PM and got my invoice a couple of days later (weekend). I paid via PP on the 5th. Seems pretty fast to me and a great deal. Got two for gifts. Didn’t want to be greedy.
I was told it would ship on the 2nd it would be here in 5 days. Never did get a tracking number though, oh well. I’m out in a rural area so an extra 1 to 2 days is pretty normal out here. I shall patiently wait. Plus I got my BLF Q8 today, so I got something new to play with.
I’m supposed to get the light in 7 days. If you email them and you don’t hear back, write another follow up email. They usually respond after the second email if they don’t respond to the first email.
Shelf. Pretty sure it has an omten switch. I think the driver is 19-20mm. The stock driver has a unshielded toroid inductor on top, so there is some vertical space in the driver pocket, maybe 10-12mm
Mine took 2 or 3 days to get the invoice (weekend), paid it right away and now I wait. I got one of my Q8’s this way so I am pretty sure mine will show up soon or at least get some kind of tracking. Hope they come from the US.
I’m not sure what I was thinking, but it has an aluminum pill, not a shelf. Also, driver is more like 17mm. I think I’m loosing it. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble getting a 16 mcpcb to work, though.
Most extruded heatsinks for CPUs, etc., are Al. It’s perfectly fine, within reason.
If you wanna push 50W through the little beastie, yeah, you’d need a Cu DTP star, and a big beefy shelf vs any kind of pill. A decent 10W or so? Why not?
Use some AS5 as “thread-lube” on the pill, makes it even better.
Wish mine would show up. 10 days today and no lights. Emailed them but have gotten no response yet. Strange. Guess I’ll let them catch up from the weekend for a few days. I have heard great things about them and surely don’t want to have to get paypal or anyone else involved. I’m sure it will work itself out one way or another.
