ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

I EDC a Ganzo f753m1 and use it everyday for various usage…
From opening packages to eating, it never failed…
I also have a Ganzo f7601 at work, and it had seen sor pretty rough uses without failing…
I don’t know what Varbos’ expectations are, but we might have some different point of view about what a knife is made for…

I mostly agree with you, but you must admit that those knives looks very nice on shared images took together with their led illuminated keyboards.

Well, me as a beginner into budget blades, I didn’t like Ganzos either. But after few days of playing with my FB7601, I started to like it and therefore ordered F7562. In the future I’ll order few more for sure, next would be Ganzo cleaver. Let’s be honest, there is hundreds of blade designs created, maybe thousands…Do you really think that something new can be created that doesn’t remind you of some other model? As one Youtuber said, if you look it that way, than all cars are each others copy, etc etc…No one is complaining about cimilar design cars, phones, planes, wheels, spoons, forks, but when you see similar design of a knife, it’s a disaster!!! For me, I don’t see any good company besides Ganzo that is making attractive and quality knives. Ganzo is for sure not the best quality making knife company, but for that budget price range, we cannot complain! I could never afford real Sebenza, or Benchmade or any other expensive AF knife, I live in poor country, that is a fact, and I’m totally satisfied with Ganzo for now. Wish Sanrenmu do knives more often as they seem to have better quality production…

Even if you could afford it and were willing to spend the cash, you’d need to constantly be on your toes regarding legality… I’ve been thinking about ordering a Benchmade BugOut and a Griptilian (and those are on the lower end of the price spectrum if we’re honest), but spending that much money on an EDC tool only makes sense if you can carry it legally - not the case here in Germany. If I go across the border to Belgium or the Netherlands (30-60 minute drive, great for weekend outings), even a little SAK type slipjoint can get confiscated.

A 15€ knife, on the other hand? Ehhh, sure, I’ll just use that around the house and for the odd camping trip. And if it gets confiscated, no big deal.

I can link dozens of videos and/or reports. I owned two which did same…I got rid of them. They simply do not understand (or care) how to make a good axis lock. They only care how to make a knife which looks like a Spyderco/BM/etc

You can say “my one doesn’t do that”. In my opinion, if even 1% of shipped knives have this problem, it is totally unacceptable.

Also to save a lot of time, I should say that if you are one of those guys with affiliate links, deal sites, blogs etc …. I do not consider your opinion to be unbiased. Ganzo sales and getting free knives are a big part of these guys revenue. I fully understand and expect these guys to come out in force and disagree with me. Don’t bother.

Yes, that’s washers with holes to hold more lubricant.

Good point and easier to skip this one.
I really love the action on my 910+ so if they ever make a version with ball bearings then I’ll get one.

…or if GB or FT gets them I’ll buy one on a $10 flash sale

Received these two beauties today …
Top: Ganzo F7562-CF
Bottom: Ganzo F7452-CF
No complaints whatsoever. I love theses Carbon laminate scales. Excellent blades.

Yes, I hope GB or FT get them because price-wise they should fit between the 7010 and 9103. So $10 is quite possible. Unfortunately price in Europe is prohibitive due to tax and distributors cut etc. I would not spend €23 on one of these personally.

You should be more careful about posting photos of black knives with black flashlights or black watches because others might think you’re pretending to be a member of some spec op team.

Yes, well, difficult. The 910+ or 9103/4 are definitely worth the price asked for in Europe, esp. since you get warranty that way and can return it when it sux.
(Ok, from China you usually get full refund, but some folks like safety)

So if they’d promote the 910 series in the $20- $30 range right away they’d still sell well enough, if you see comparable knives from Kizer or Boker Plus and the like.

Many CRKT and Kershaws are more expensive in EU yet less well fabricated imo.

By the way, the 9103 has become pricey lately. For a while they sold them for $10, now it’s 25 on GB and discontinued on FT…

I’ve seen many youtube reviews where there are complaints of USA made Spydercos & Benchmades with uneven grinds and non centered blades, so even they are not on their game sometimes.

On and on about Spyderco. Please re check the title of this thread.

The percentage of Ganzo original designs outnumbers their copied designs. But on their copies the function is a high priority for them, they copy the look then add BETTER function, PM2, RAT-1 with Axis locks :+1: :+1: (= looks + better function) You sound quite upset about the copies, do you work for Spyderco?

Again untrue. It does not fail easy. I just tested the Axis lock on my G727M with many very hard spine whacks on a block, sorry, no fail.

Benchmade Axis locks have been known to fail, as well as Spyderco’s back locks, try google.

Why are you attacking me personally with your extremely rude innuendo? I did not attack you personally at all in my post, I merely stated my disagreement. The comment was unnecessary. Obviously you cannot tolerate when someone disagrees with you. There’s a word for someone who engages in that kind of dialogue on a forum, it begins with T and ends with L. This is my last reply on the matter, I’m sure you’ll need to get the last word in though, so have at it.

BTW 98% of flashlights are black. I hope you never post a photo of a black knife or flashlight here.

You are seeing a personal ‘attack’ that does not exist. Please apologize for the rude and false accusation.

I was referring to the general buyer - nobody in particular - who buys cheap ‘tacticool’ stuff and then posts pictures of their EDC ‘system’ with everything lined up neatly on their desk.

And the only reason I mention this is to illustrate the different type of buyers. One guy buys a Spyderco because it functions well. Another guy buys a Ganzo because it looks like a Spyderco. Do you see the difference? If your purpose is to just look at it and take photos then sure, Ganzo are a great knife. They look great. They look pretty close to the model they are copying. The lock probably won’t fail cutting open a bag of doritos while playing video games. But if you are actually using them in the real world then in my opinion they are not so good, for reasons already mentioned. They prioritize copying the look (not function) of other knives at a low price.

Yes … you are correct. I wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea about my covert activities. These days my one man Spec OP’s amount to taking the trash out curbside every Tuesday night, slicing open the odd bag of Doritos and periodically glancing at my wrist for a time check. Pretty sneaky with the right “Black” tools and keeping to the operations budget.

That’s a pretty Ganzo CF set you have there! :+1:
How do you like your F753M with CF? I have the G10 version and I’m planning to grab a CF one too.

Black folder and black flashlight along with my 2nd generation Ganzo G729 in a (more or less) neat order:

I really like the G729 not because its great ergonomics, skeletonized liners, smooth action or capability for every day cutting tasks but because I can annoy two different fanboy groups by it easily at the same time.

I am quite fond of the F753M line. I own several and love the utility. Great blade with an excellent clip and choil. Easy to sharpen in the field with my DMT diamond pocket folder. I keep a green F753M1 in my nail bags … I am a carpenter … and it has served me well for all sorts of duties from sharpening my pencil to opening a beer …

Whatever anybody says, these cheap knives are good to start on with some modding.

WOW! I like that …. all of it! Awesome work as always man! :+1:

I measured 246g for that SR knife.
Ctsmart claw knife is 201g while Sanrenmu is 54g.
