ENEDED

Saw the video, They are both basically the same product, Wish I had jumped on the $47 price, it is now $71 and climbing! Will just keep using the Q8 as my flooder…

Maybe if we are lucky the price will go back down after they realize nobody is biting at the $71 price. We’ll see.

Mode 4 and Turbo on the MF-01 mops the floor with the 911.

Luck of the draw, everyone who has ones says they are the same light.

As far as I know, the mode 4 and turbo specs of the 911 coincides with that of MF01 V2, relative to that of MF01 V1. The “problem” with mode 4 of MF01 V1 is that it’s ~5000 lumens, and is going to step down quite rapidly to ~2000 lumens, even thought the body of the MF01 should handle more heat/lumens.
The mode 4 of MF01 V2 is ~3000 lumens, and the light is able to maintain this output continuously, at least when I tested it a couple of months ago. So specs wise the 911 (or MF01 V2) has lower output in mode 4 than the MF01 V1, but it is a much more usable output.
I have also tested a turbo output of ~9000 lumens for V2 compared to ~10000 lumens for V1 which again is in accordance with the relative specs of the 911 compared to the MF01 V1.

What was your runtimes on max turbo? Does it step down in less than a minute?

Time on turbo depends on cell voltage, as turbo output reduces with cell voltage. All I remember is that it steps down quite quickly, something like a minute or minute and a half. If you really want more precise figures, give me a beep, and I’ll fully charge some cells and do tests on both V1 and V2 of MF01 tomorrow, both with Nichia 219C emitters (I thought XP-G3 runs cooler for longer runtime on turbo).

I’m getting roughly a minute of turbo on fresh Sony VTC6 cells. It sounds as if 1 min is the norm. Really wish I could keep it at turbo but heat… That light output though… Amazing.

After chatting with my friend in Mateminco (who also makes all the Astrolux MF series lights) he confirmed that the 911 unbranded version is made by them for a customer who wants to sell in Amazon but decided to take a loss on the first few units he sold at $49 just to bump up pucblicity of his store.

In short, that light in Amazon is a real Mateminco product.

I prefer the modes on the 911 over my Version 1 MF01. And the slight difference in lumens on turbo is very hard to notice with the naked eye when you are already in the 10k+ lumens range.

Received the Amazon light today, exact same as Astrolux, price is now $109.95.

That’s going to be a slow sale at $109.00 when the group buy is still going on.

it wont ship until april 3 ?

April 3, but some time it can be a few days earlier.

Well that was quite early

If you could test the runtime on high and measure lumens/temperature that’ll be amazing. Just ordered a nichia one a few days ago. I’m really curious to know if V2 steps down on high as there doesn’t seem to be any runtime graphs of it.

Runtime on high of 219C V2, so that is about 3000 lumens right? Complete runtime test will be done indoors at room temperature, so there is good chance it will step down. Is this what you want to have tested? With Samsung 30Q?
