Nitecore EA42 - 4xAA - XHP35 - 1800 lumens

Seems to have been out for over a month now but I couldn’t see anything about it on the forums.

I haven’t see anything new and interesting in the 4xAA department since the Manker MK41 from last year. The previous EA41 was a direct competitor to the Thrunite TN4A, which is now 4 years old and has seen no updates.

Sounds like a great alternative to 18650 lights, for those that want to maximize safety. I’m a fan of 4xAA lights, though I admit I tend to just use them as tail-stand lights around the house. I used to use one on walks and cycling, but I found it was too heavy compared to 1x18650 lights.

Hopefully there’s a BG code soon

I’m also a fan of AA lights. This has impressive output from 4xAA. I just don’t like the 2x2 parallel battery orientation, I’d prefer a shorter 4xAA concentric design.

This is my preference too. It gives it that compact, stubby coke can feel, which in the instance of the MK41 makes it coat-pocketable.

Looks good! Hopefully some one does a review. I own a EA41 its a great light.

I also prefer the coke can style much more especially for AA lights since they are so small. My TN4A feels just right. My only wish is that the TN4A did not require a separate battery carrier as I find it inconvenient.

I love the slender format.
My EA45S is a dream to slip into a pants pocket quickly.
My elderly Mom can hold it comfortably, too.
IMHO allows for more varied gripping styles than the coke can lights.
