OK everyone….I thought I had already done what Thrunite has suggested doing for the quick drop in amperage and lumens , but I guess I wasn’t thorough enough.
I had cleaned all the contact points on the TC20 before such as inside the head at the small brass contact , the brass ring in the head , the tail springs . both ends of the tube and the un-anodized threads on the tube , as well as inside the tailcap and I also wiped off the ends of the cell itself with some isopropyl alcohol.
They suggested trying to clean the cell ends again so I did and I rubbed them very well with the alcohol and a paper towel and was very surprised at the results , as it seems the cell ends themselves were the problem of the quick amperage and lumen drop.
With the included thrunite cell I am now getting the 10.03 amps at the tail at start but instead of the light stepping down at 10 to 20 seconds to the 7.9 or so …………it holds well on to about 65 to 70 seconds at about 9.7 amps now.
OK I had to check the lumens too…….At the start I am now getting 3784 to 3807….at the 30 second mark with included cell I am getting about what I did in initial testing at an average of 3531 to 3573 lumens now. At the 60 to 70 second mark the lumens with all the cells is averaging about 2900 to 3100.
I do feel each test was varied slightly because the light had not cooled down to room temperature each time.
This is now very much in line with the AWT , Basen and Efest cells as they are starting at about 9.7 average and then dropping off at almost the same point as the thrunite cell (to about 9.1 or 9.2 amps) now that it has been cleaned well.
Also from the first drop at the 1 minute or slightly over mark , the light gradually drops from there over the next 2 minutes until the full step down at the 3 minute mark , where it levels off around 1755 or so lumens with all the cells.
And yes there is a definite difference , very noticeable to the eye , from High to Turbo.
Hope this can help with any future problems of quick step downs or low Amperage / Lumens.
I have been using my tc20 everyday with the shockli unprotected… oem 26650 is in my other flashlight that need protected… ( to be excat, manker u21 oslon black)…
Anyhow, i like this light… red indictator finally came on tonight… so thats mean its time to recharge… 3.25 v .
I read a review of the Thrunite TC20 in the German amazon site in which the reviewer indicated he was using a Keeppower 27700
5700MAH battery and he posted a picture of it .Its 3.7V 21.09 WH
Does anyone know where I can get it in USA .anyone have experience with this battery?I imagine this would greatly increase the light life b4 charging.
Here is link to review and the link to the actual battery
Rambo007, why not just get the Shockli 26650? I tested the ones I have to be 5,800-5,900mah. They are known to be the best 26650 you can get as of now.
Does anyone have a comparison shot with a D4? I’m looking for a light with similar throw/spill but more sustained output and I think this could be the ticket. 3000+ lumens from a big emitter and a tiny reflector though, it might be too spilly…
I have no problem charge T20 up to 2A, even my power bank can charge T20 up tp 1.6A. Average charge time is about 2 hours, not bad for charging 26650 size battery with build-in charger!
Sorry , my bad……….I did get the charts back up , but the rest of the pictures will not show no matter what I try. Something going on with the server maybe?
