Team Giggles and Neal - thank you. In between work I’ve had the opportunity to muck around with my light and it’s perfect. No blemishes, UIs seem to work as described. Additionally, I’m able to make a light spot on my neighbour’s house about 15 metres opposite of me in sunny weather. This thing is mental. Thanks again.
i just have a PM sent by neal, first since DEC
so it turned out the light hasn’t been shipped :person_facepalming: , and he asked me what value should the light be declared
so at least 2 weeks i will receive the light
anyway, i’m not mad this time, because i know what’s going on
Yes, I will go into more detail later once I understand the full scope of the situation but things are a bit of a mess with all the manual human input that was involved in the order and shipping process. Some orders were lost, some people got 2 tubes or 2 heads and in some cases the workers shipping the lights messed up altogether and some orders feel between the cracks.
Communication is flowing much better now, so make sure you filled out the survey (just once please) and hopefully things should start getting back on track soon.
Question: How will the use of neodymium magnets affect
the overall resistance of the electrical circuit?
Explanation: I can calculate the resistance and get the exact result.
I do not understand the effect of this resistance on the performance of the BLF GT flashlight.
Hello those who have the xhp 70 and the vn modification,
I just was curious how changing the leds affects the throw and beam width? Is the throw less but the beam wider? Or does the throw stay the same or is the throw even longer? I am trying to understand how the type of led affects width and throw. I have an Olight sr ut-52 with the Vinh mod that does not affect the internal charging. It is also a good throwing light.
Thanks to the team and esp to TA for his thoughtful and patient approach.
The XHP70 with dome on dropped the throw on my light from ~2100m to ~1300m.
With the dome off the throw increase to ~1600m.
The beam is much larger, around 2.5-3X the size IIRC. I find the xhp70.2 version to be more practical in the real world but boy is the stock LED pretty and fun to play with.
I am actually considering selling my XHP70.2 GT in a week or 2 once I test the new driver in it.
Yes, that is the plan after I finish testing. Although they might send me another light for the full torture test, not clear yet.
Either way I plan to sell it with the TA driver and XHP70.2 installed and ready to rock. I could even install a CW XHP70.2 if someone twisted my arm hard enough lol.
Just have to wait for the drivers to be ready first. I will be placing the order tonight or in the morning. They should be in next week.
Del gave some really good input as well, I am really liking the newest design.
