What combination of dual LED for AA Flashlight do you prefer?

HCRI NW + 365nm UV

+1 (only if I have to choose from the list)

If we are talking dual LED then why not Cree XM-L Color RGBW (Neutral white ~4500K) + 365nm UV ?
I wonder when somebody makes similar RGBW LED with high CRI white chip.

NW + Redā€¦ Very useful for me. For years I used a $urefire A2ā€¦ regulated incan and red LEDs.

NW & Cree XML COLOR

What use are you guys thinking of for red LED? Hunting?

Yes. High CRI 4500K neutral white + 365nm UV with ZWB2 filter.

OOH! YEAH!

Voted, Neutral White + UV!

:+1:

Come on neutral white + UV fans, get your votes in! Weā€™re tied with the neutral white + red people at the moment.

Sorry, my vote was accidentally canceled earlier while I was editing my post above. I put it back now, and weā€™re in the lead!

I choose NW+red.
One thing, because I donā€™t know much about UV and itā€™s usage.

Seems people donā€™t like cool white :person_facepalming:

If you look at the first choice, though, there are four votes currently. Someone might be thinking of a dual cool/warm led combo that has the two contributing to the same beam, and the ability to adjust the mix to get just the right level of ā€œneutralā€ to match their preference.

Edit: I know the choice is ā€œCool plus Neutralā€ but I think ā€œCool plus Warmā€ is what would make my idea work, and probably what others are thinking as well when they see that as a choice for a ā€œdual LEDā€ setup.

If the light was supposed to function with both leds working at the same time, I would mark ā€œCold + Neutralā€ so that we could have a ā€œbalancedā€ beam (despite it would probably be more on the Cold white).
However, as it is supposed to have different leds not working together, I guess most people here will prefer Neutral instead of Cold white.

If, as DavidEF said, you offered CW + Warm White working together it was possible that more people choose the CW version as well.

Iā€™ve been seing the project that youā€™re developing and it is quite nice.
But the decisions on the types of LEDs, their tints and the user interface will be crucial for this project to work and to be a real winner! My pointā€¦

NW XPG2 and a COB on the side. It needs to start in the same mode you turned it off in. No flashing.

I guess this is more the design they have in mind:

But correct me if Iā€™m wrong, pandapanda

EDIT: and instead of side switch it will have tail switch:

I think it would be helpful to have a bit more info about the light youā€™re designing. Emitter choice might depend on form factor and intended use of the light.

I never get what I want!!!

+ 1 here  The initial design of this light (with side switch) was more appealing for me, but it was changed! Now, this led choicesā€¦letā€™s see where it ends!
I guess that they have all the opportunity to make a classy, appealing, well designed and powerfull flashlight (the first numbers were about 1000lumens), with a nice (programmable  ?) user interface!

Iā€™m not sure where this will end, but Iā€™m still interested to know! There is room to innovation, and for a nice build on this light

Night vision preservationā€¦ any application really where I need to see and I do not want to dilate my eyes. Hunting would be included in that as well as night hiking, backpacking, camping.
