[New Release] Mankerlight E05 II AL/Cu 1300 Lumen Highest Output Pocket EDC Flashlight in 14500/AA Class

Hi Manker, where’s the U21? Couldn’t find it anymore
Is it true that the U22 (65.000cd) throws less than U21 (124.000cd)? They both use the same XHP35 HI, correct?

- Clemence

U22 has smaller head (51 vs. 59 mm).
Still, the difference in throw is higher than the size would suggest. Even more so when you consider that U22 has higher output (1500 vs. 1200 lumens).

I prefer the U21 minus the disco mode. Thanks for the info Agro.

U22 was designed as a reliable utility for your daily use.
1. Smaller and lighter than U21, handy and compact, easy to carry .
2. Completely new driver design gives a full play to 21700 battery which will be the mainstream of Lithium batteries.
3. Optimized clicky side switch gives better feeling, smooth and soft.
4. 1500 lumens maximum output and 509 meters maximum beam distance with such a small body

Yup, looks like it. Anyway, does the U21 has been discontinued?

- Clemence

Can you post a picture of this optimized clicky side switch that you are using please?

When can we expect to see reviews?

Can you explain why U22 is specced to deliver so much shorter throw than U21? It should be very roughly 15% worse, not 48% worse.

Thinking about it I came with 5 possible explanations (or partial explanations).

  1. U21 may have been overspecced. That’s not the case, 2 reviews show it to be 1-3% worse than it should, within error margin (note: I compare cd/lm, not cd or lumen individually).
  2. U22 may be underspecced.
    That would be…extraordinary.
  3. U22 may be overspecced….when it comes to lm, but not when it comes to cd
We’ve seen some companies scaling their claims as to cd and lm independently. Manker was not always perfectly honest with specs really…
  4. Some difference could be explained by different reflector geometry.
If U22 was shorter (in relation to diameter), it would produce both fewer cd and more lumens.
But I don’t expect huge difference in geometry, maybe marginal.
  5. Maybe reflector is of lower quality?
Such quality drop would damage Manker’s reputation and therefore is not something I’d expect.

Overall - I don’t know what to think about it.
That’s why I wait for reviews.

1 Thank

BTW, Manker, did you consider adding a powerbank function to this light?
This seems to be the only thing missing…

What’s the big knife? And when did Manker start making knives?

What is the tail / tube diameter of the Manker U22?

Here is a size comparison of the U21 and the newer U22. This is a pic from Skylumen.Com.

Thanks for the photo, it helps a lot. And wow that’s a big difference!

I’d still like to know the actual measurements though.

…………

Isn’t the purple/pink switch led’s the stock color?
(photo from a U21 review/comparison Utorch UT02 vs Manker U21, group buy review for UT02)

Maybe, I don’t know. I’m used to seeing green or blue. Pink seems kinda custom. Me and DB tend to mod a lot of our lights with pink leds. I was thinking Vinh might have changed it to pink, as well.

If pink is stock, then that’s pretty cool.

Is it confirmed that U21 will no longer produced?

- Clemence

Hmmm, that is Dale’s review, but he doesn’t mention that his photo is after modding, but highly possible since you said “Me and DB tend to mod a lot of our lights with pink leds”

I couldn’t find any other reviews or photos anywhere of the switches when illuminated. And Manker doesn’t mention or show it either. Was trying to look also on CPF but it’s still down.

I’m wondering that as well.

Just got mt U22. As the cell is too long to fit in my charger I am limited to USB charging only. How do I know when it is fully charged?

Thought this was $55.95 with the battery bundle? What happened to that price?

Is there any type of charging indicator? Maybe the switch light glows red when charging and blue when finished?

Are they using a 70mm long battery or does it have protection circuitry in it making it closer to 74mm?
