A tester version beam shot (L to R- MF04, MF04 & MF02)

Is it my eyes or the light throws very similar to the K70?

Sorry, I made mistake! L to R- MF04, MF04 & MF02

Astrolux MF04 CW?

Assuming the battery tube, switch/driver/led housing is the same as the MF02, would a kit to upgrade with the reflector/housing/lens/bezel assembly be considered?

That wouldn’t save you a lot of money, most of the money goes into the head and everuthing in it……

I suppose I’ll have to pick this light up as well as the MF01 to make the whole set! Flood, throw, and super throw!

I’m in position of the GT and to be honest mine just measured over 1Mcd and I know a few guys who measured just below 1Mcd. I will say the average output will be 1Mcd. Maukka for instants measured it 860Kcd at maximum ramp (2A). Using a distance of 6.1 meters which is also not far enough to get the real lux value. I’ll say a proper distance for this type of light will be 15 meter plus to get accurate reading. Remember the measurement was also not taken at turbo (2.5A). The turbo is not really that much improvement either. Could properly add another 5% onto it.

Interested.

Looky here: BLG GT Moding thread

“Results:

Djozz light: 21 mtr = 832.167Cd
My light at 21 mtr = 1.142.190Cd
Mine at 13 mtr = 1.139.060Cd
Mine at 8 mtr = 1.142.336Cd

(We measured with Djozz’ calibrated Gossen Luxmeter and deducted the ambient light @ 61Cd).”

BTW: My BLF GT has a NW Led. VERY NW, bordering WW.
So with good binning CW it would be somewhat higer.

BTW: I’m thinking of modding the BLF GT with XHP70.2 and modding this new Astrolux with a small led, like Oslon BF.
Should do around 2Mcd with that. Just waiting for a reversed polarity driver for the Oslon.

You’ll be better off with Osram Q8WP. Intensity within error margin from Blacky but double lumens. The only drawback is higher power consumption which doesn’t really matter in GT.

Tnx for the tip, I’ll look into it.

Don’t get me wrong: I still think the BLF GT is a great light and unbeatable at the price for which we got it in pre-sale.
It’s just that whilst it has good throw, for the size of the light one would expect more and due to the output the spill has a blending effect on the user.

Hence I was thinking: either a bigger led for less throw but a lot more lumens (XHP70.2) or a much higher intensity led with a lot less spill so the throw
will be more useful.

Tnx
Nico

Of course. MF04 could be ready for preorder by next month... if nothing goes wrong.
