Similar to MF02 maybe. NW should have better penetration power over CW for longer distance.

Yes indeed the NW is better thrower at long distances. CW causes much more scattering specially at high humidity and fog. I did few tests in the beginning of the week where I compared NW and CW at long distances and definitely NW wins. Definitely much more detail, contrast, better depth perception and color rendition on objects with NW.
Can you post a side by side beamshot comparison picture between either the BLF GT or the Acebeam K70? Thanks! Another question, is the driver a DD or regulated? Would be awesome if it was CC regulated so it does not dim as batteries deplete…

It seems likely they use a boost driver just like the smaller MF02.
The MF02 battery tube fits so they might be trying to use the same battery carrier as well.
They might be trying to make the MF01, MF02 and MF04 all compatible so you can have a double headed flashlight.
Hopefully they will answer.
Tube should be interchangeable. Head design is undergoing slight fine tuning right now.

They took Lumintop BLF GT. It’s an obvious clone. Is it ethical to support such a project? (I specify that I am enrolled for the flashlight)
I’m also enlisted for hopefully the next batch of GT. In any case I’m buying both lights. I’m under the impression the reflector will be near identical size as the bezel on the MF04 is only 2mm larger than the GT.
This is completely acceptable in Chinese business culture. Copies and clones of other things are normal.
Usually the buyers of clones have no ethical problems either as they can get a similar product for a cheaper price. The problem is it is usually not as well made. Iphone clone is not as good as original. They even copy Land Rover and other brand cars. It may look similar, but the quality is not as good.
Back to the MF04, hopefully Astrolux has finally got their MF02 drivers sorted out (many failed when they first came out) and it will be reliable. Assuming they use the same driver in the MF04 (why wouldn’t they?).
Naturally the companies being copied don’t like it, but we as consumers usually benefit.
It is up to you about how you feel about it. I’m sure Lumintop doesn’t like it, but at least Astrolux is being courteous in not releasing the MF04 until the GT sale is closer to being finished.
There is no need to wait for OBF reversed drivers

I have MF01 and GT for it, the original GT driver needs some little mods to run OBF, a 2S/2P carrier of the MF02 is better
