It’s interesting how it’s the same cell as the shockli.
They just rate their battery at a lower discharge current to put a higher mah rating on it.
I guess it’s not bad to have two options to buy though, since it’s the best 26650.
I don’t have one of these batteries yet, but they do look very good. HKJ measured the energy at 20-21.5 Wh for the ShockLi I believe. That’s really nice; we need more single cell 26650 lights.
MC3000 “Refresh” test: discharge at 1.0A current down to 2.50v cut-off voltage
Won’t fit Convoy L2 battery tube at all; but will fit Convoy L6 very tightly (will have to unscrew the tube and push the batteries out once they’re inside, they will not “slide” out even when upside down); battery works in series without needing magnet spacer.
Thanks for the info d_t_a. It is obvious that they do not meet a “6000mAh” minimum specification, though they could bear a 5700mAh 0.2C label. The 5500mAh 1C Power Long Battery spec looks clear to me, honest and professional.
Their 6Ah rating is probably at a discharge current lower than 1A.
The website does say “Minimum Capacity: 5850mAh ● Typical Capacity: 5950mAh” which is not far off from the measurements.
It’s the same cell as the shockli 26650, however shockli calls it a 5500mAh cell and then exceeds expectations, while keepower calls it 6000mAh and doesn’t meet expectations.
Protected cells are longer (because of the protection PCB) and as far as I understand most of the time slightly thicker (because of anode to cathode PCB power strip and additional wrap).
For those interested, the exact cell can size diameter is ∅26.8mm, wrapped, for these and the super popular LiitoKala INR26650-50A/Lii-50A cell (Power Long Battery). Battery tube bores no bigger than this figure may cause problems.
Protected version? If the standard cell is tight already, these are likely a no chance.
Just to share, I got a few pcs of INR26650-50A (it looks exactly the same as the Liitokala INR26650-50A/Lii-50A and capacity test is similar), but it’s not labeled Liitokala. The diameter measurement I got for mine is from 26.5-26.7mm using a digital caliper to measure (hmmm. they don’t seem to be perfectly round…).
But they fit the Convoy L2 without any problem (snug fit, but not too tight, battery will slide out by themselves when turned upside down with tailcap off), unlike the protected P2660C, which simply won’t fit the Convoy L2 at all. The INR26650-50A (cyan) I got fits the slightly bigger diameter Convoy L6 without problem.
So maybe there are some tolerance values for the INR26650-50A?
