Thank you Barkuti

Discharge current: 10A

So description to the first image: Comparison between Shockli 26650 5500mAh and Keeppower IMR26650 6000mAh. They seem to use the same cell (PLB 55A).

Second image: Direct comparison of some of the most interesting 26650 cells. The Imalent cell is protected, the others are not.

I would sum up that PLB 55A is a great new cell for flashlights.

By the way, there are hints at TLF that the protected Keeppower 6000 show weak performance.

Another helpful post from you!

Thanks

It’s interesting how it’s the same cell as the shockli.
They just rate their battery at a lower discharge current to put a higher mah rating on it.
I guess it’s not bad to have two options to buy though, since it’s the best 26650.

Using one of these in my Rofis MR70, fits fine.

I don’t have one of these batteries yet, but they do look very good. HKJ measured the energy at 20-21.5 Wh for the ShockLi I believe. That’s really nice; we need more single cell 26650 lights.

MC3000 “Refresh” test: discharge at 1.0A current down to 2.50v cut-off voltage

Won’t fit Convoy L2 battery tube at all; but will fit Convoy L6 very tightly (will have to unscrew the tube and push the batteries out once they’re inside, they will not “slide” out even when upside down); battery works in series without needing magnet spacer.

Thanks for the info d_t_a. It is obvious that they do not meet a “6000mAh” minimum specification, though they could bear a 5700mAh 0.2C label. The 5500mAh 1C Power Long Battery spec looks clear to me, honest and professional.

Cheers :-)

Their 6Ah rating is probably at a discharge current lower than 1A.
The website does say “Minimum Capacity: 5850mAh ● Typical Capacity: 5950mAh” which is not far off from the measurements.
It’s the same cell as the shockli 26650, however shockli calls it a 5500mAh cell and then exceeds expectations, while keepower calls it 6000mAh and doesn’t meet expectations.

Sounds like it is a lottery if it fits in the L6!

My unprotected ones from Shockli fit L2 just fine.

Great, but the Shockli is not available in some markets. Keeppower have much better global distribution.

Unprotected Keeppower should fit just fine as well.

Yeah the unprotected one should be the same size as the shockli.
The protected one is almost certainly longer.

Protected cells are longer (because of the protection PCB) and as far as I understand most of the time slightly thicker (because of anode to cathode PCB power strip and additional wrap).

Cheers

Is that the unprotected version of the Keeppower they tested at TLF?

Just tested one of mine.

Which version ( unprotected or protected flat top ) will fit

Utorch UT02

Thurnite TC20

Thunite Cata V6

Convoy L6

Looking to buy if fit with no force into tube might cause battery damage.

Thanks.

Interested to know fit in Jaxman Z1 as well (2 battery tube).

For those interested, the exact cell can size diameter is ∅26.8mm, wrapped, for these and the super popular LiitoKala INR26650-50A/Lii-50A cell (Power Long Battery). Battery tube bores no bigger than this figure may cause problems.

Protected version? If the standard cell is tight already, these are likely a no chance.

Cheers :-)

Just to share, I got a few pcs of INR26650-50A (it looks exactly the same as the Liitokala INR26650-50A/Lii-50A and capacity test is similar), but it’s not labeled Liitokala. The diameter measurement I got for mine is from 26.5-26.7mm using a digital caliper to measure (hmmm. they don’t seem to be perfectly round…).

But they fit the Convoy L2 without any problem (snug fit, but not too tight, battery will slide out by themselves when turned upside down with tailcap off), unlike the protected P2660C, which simply won’t fit the Convoy L2 at all. The INR26650-50A (cyan) I got fits the slightly bigger diameter Convoy L6 without problem.

So maybe there are some tolerance values for the INR26650-50A?
