But Acebeam confirmed that there will be Neutral White version of the X70 this time and not just cool white like all the other super bright flashlights! LOL

I do hope Astrolux offer a HI CRI version with the XHP70.2 4000k 80+CRI, which has perfect neutral tint that is nearly indistinguishable from the legendary Nichia NVSL219BT. Their MF01 219c 90+ CRI version seems to be super popular

XHP70.2 4000k 80+CRI Just wondering do you have a light with this, or did you read about that somewhere?

And do you know where we can buy this “perfect tint” emitter?

I have the Haikelite MT09R with the XHP70.2 4000k 80+ CRI. It actually looks very neutral white with no yellow, green, magenta, blue. I compared it with the triple Nichia NVSL219BT 4000k 90+CRI that every body likes and I can hardly tell the difference between the two tint.
https://www.pflexpro.com/Nichia-219-Triple-Flashlight-p/s2-219b-3up-3.8a...

In comparison, the tint on my flashlights with the XP-L HD 4000k, XP-L HI 4000k, and Nichia 219C 4000k looks completely different.

OK thanks for the info, nice Haikelight! So those were a limited run for the group buy only and not available for sale otherwise?

I poked around the web a bit just trying to find that same emitter but no luck so far.

"Over 2000000 hours (about 200 years) standby time"  (DQG Tiny 4th)

"27,157 results for zoomable flashlight" (ebay)

Mouser has them, I got 2 of them…I like it in my Convoy L2, didn’t like it in my BLF GT…..works/looks the best with a OP reflector, IMO. https://www.mouser.com/productdetail/cree-inc/xhp70b-01-0000-0d0hm440g?q...

Cree has several emitters in specifically 4000K 80CRI, that apparently all have the same phosformix, that work out in a particularly great tint. I have XP-G3 and XP-L2 emitters in that tint that look really good, while their 70CRI versions look meh yellowish (you don’t want 4000K in 70CRI) and the 90CRI versions are horribly green.

I got all my 4000K 80CRI Cree leds from Mouser, Cree leds apparently come quite standard with that tint.

Maukka tested a few XP-L2 4000k 70CRI and found them to be very close to the BBL line, which is ideal so there shouldn’t be any yellow/green. Did you test an XPL2 4000k XPL2? On the other hand, the XP-L2 4000k 90CRI he tested was above the BBL so appeared green, which is consistent with my experience; I returned my Zebralight SC5c II with XP-L2 4000K 90CRI the moment I turned it on because of the ugly yellow/green tint.

I tested 3 different Zebralight SC5w II 4500k 80CRI and the there is noticeable green in the corona although nowhere near as green as the 4000k XPL2 90CRI. The Haikelite MT09R XHP70.2 4000k does not have any observable green. However, I applied DC-Fix on mine which blends the beam so that might make a difference. However, I don’t recall noticing any green corona in it prior to the DC-Fix but I can’t remember for sure. With the DC-Fix, the tint is very similar to the NVSL219BT 4000k.

Unfortunately, the XHP70.2 4000k 80+CRI was a group buy special and is no longer available. I ordered a 4000k and a 5000k version from the GB and I liked the 4000k version SOOOOoooo much more even though the 5000k version measured much brighter. I gave the 5000k version away as a gift.

I think this is the first and last time you will find this beautiful HI CRI emitter in a high powered flashlight. It’s unfortunate but manufacturers tend to not go below 5000k. The other hi CRI hi lumen light is the Astrolux MF01, which is crap because of the UI and the turbo mode only last 30s and steps down drastically unlike the more useful MT09R, which can maintain high lumens much longer. I also don’t like the 5000k tint on the 219C. I think 219C is more on the yellow/green side in general whereas 219b is more neutral/rosy.

Having a bright wall of HI CRI in a lumen monster light like the DX80 and X80 would be one of a kind awesome especially for things like photography but not going to happen.

Thanks, but I’m a bit confused, that link is showing a Mfg # XHP70B-01-0000-0D0HM440G
but the closest I could find on the Cree data sheet was Mfg XHP70B-00-0000-0D0HM440G

The difference being the “01” in the second group of numbers.

I was trying to find it pre-mounted on DTP/Sinkpad etc. I found this: http://www.kaidomain.com/p/S027211.Cree-XHP70_2-Neutral-White-4000K-LED-Emitter-with-20mm-x-1_5mm-DTP-Copper-MCPCB-6V

Which I think has this emitter (shows “High CRI”): http://www.kaidomain.com/p/S027209.Cree-XHP70_2-P2-5C-Neutral-White-4000K-LED-Emitter

But the only number codes I could find (on a ship label in the photograph) was: XHP70B-0-5C0-P20-D0-B-01 which doesn’t seem to match any numbers I can find on the Cree spec sheets.

Thanks I wondered why I couldn’t find it anywhere. And thanks for the info on the other lights too.

I’d like to get this emitter for swap and build.

Maybe you gotta interpret it like a true flashaholic – interested in one of each flashlight in existence. Big Smile

So when are we going to see some more info?
I know it says Q3/Q4 for delivery but surely there has to be some more information already available?
I’m really interested in the specifications and the implementation of the active cooling.
