No Moonlight

Amazing. $1 cheaper than I paid during their super duper special anniversary special, and I had to pay to use PayPal, and it still hasn’t arrived. If I could foresee the future, I could have waited, ordered this and receive it in 2 days. Just reminds me to not always trust those once-a-year, special anniversary promotions.

Its got one of the best Budget light moon modes that I have seen. About the same as NarsilM between setting 1 and 2 running A6 FET + 7135 driver in a Utorch UT01. Slightly brighter than setting one and dimmer than setting 2. Just about right in my opinion.
The modes as the one I received yesterday: always starts in moon (1 to 2 lumen). Single clicks cycle moon, low and med then back to moon. A double click goes to high. 3 clicks to strobe. High is not in the main UI only moon, low and med in that order. High and strobe are hidden with a double click and triple click. Hold for off. It’s really a nice simple UI. I’m pretty pleased with this little light.
The tint is really nice too, almost pure white.

Got, tnx!

Great gifts, even for muggles!

I couldn’t resist, ordered another one.
Only 4 left.

I just ordered 2 so only 2 left

Allllrighty then!

There own description must be wrong (Not the First Time)
I have 2 of the 10b’s and like them, thought this one was different.
Thanks for a first hand review.

Just pulled my Red 10b and tested it and it is exactly as you describe.
So have to wonder if the latest 10a’s have the same UI as the 10b’s now?
Later,
Keith

is this the same as sp10b? I dont like the moonlight on that one its way too low.

I think it’s the UI from the sp10b. Moon is pretty low, perfect for slipping through the house at night without waking anyone or on your way to the thrown.

Same here. It’s really more like Firefly mode than moonlight, sub 1 lumen for sure.

Is it brighter on sp10a?

mine is perfect for a spinal chord injury :confounded:

FWIW, according to the descriptions on Amazon, the SP10b has 1 or 2 lumen moonlight. The SP10a has either 5 or 10 as the lowest setting.

10a: Amazon.com

They are also on sale at aliexpress for close to the same price. Sofirn is offering a 2 dollar off discount for orders over $15, so order 2 and the price is very close to amazon… That’s where I bought my first two that arrived yesterday. Mine say SP10A on the head. I believe the black is 10a and colors are 10b now.

there’s only one left in stock, I think I got enough $10 sofirns this week, so I will let you guys have it, but great deals, hope they keep coming.

If you go to the aliexpress offical sofirn store they have the sp10a there that says “bright mini flashlight update to 5 modes”
I can not quarantee that the sp10a on amazon is the same sp10a on aliexpress. I ordered mine from aliexpress about a week and a half ago.
They both have the UI I explained which appears to be the UI the sp10b has but now black is a 10a and colors are 10b same UI.
At least that’s how I take it. The amazon sp10a could be a older version they’re getting rid of, I just don’t know for sure.
If it’s the older version I’ll just mod with a different driver and add a mount for the switch.

The old (original) ’A had no firefly mode, just L/M/H in the main cycle, strobe on doubleclick.

This new ’A is a renamed ’B as far as I’ve heard. My own ’B has F/L/M in the main cycle, H on doubleclick, strobe on tripleclick, lockout on quadclick. So old ’A became a new ’B but is different, and the new ’A is the old ’B but just renamed.

Confused yet? My head hurts…

I could use a slightly brighter F mode, but to me it’s still usable, as I’ve got eyes like a cat.

Once again, the old is the new, Youz know what I’m sayin?
Peace Out!

P,S, we all could use a brighter “F” mode as we get older
Not me, just all of the rest of you, ya know.

Oh man, I’m really confused now.
I do know that I have 2 SP10A’s bought from Sofirn official store at Aliexpress that has what apparently is the old SP10B UI.
As for everything else I’m total lost. :person_facepalming:

See why I’m so confused, it plainly says SP10A. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wellp, the old/original ’A had a bit of a greenish tint (shades of Jetbeam…), whereas the ’B is quite neutral.

Gf loves the old ’A, as it’s L/M/H only, simple and to-the-point. F could if anything just be left on accidentally and keep burning ’til the cell’s spent. Aimed at pretty much anything in anything brighter than pitch-black darkness, and you’ll never see the beam except by looking right down the reflector. She doesn’t use F, but I do. Perfect! The old ’A is exactly what she needs.

Me, yeah, I usually flick it back to F when I’m done using it, so that it comes on in F and doesn’t blind me. If I need anything brighter, I flick it to L or M. If I want bright light, I just doubleclick right to H and I’m done. Perfect! It’s almost exactly what I need. (I’d lessen the huge cavernous jump between F and L.)

That’s the nice thing about different UIs, even in the “same” light.

And the new ’A ostensibly has the same UI as the ’B. Ain’t got a new ’A (yet? dunno what these are, old or new or something else entirely), so can’t say.

So… what you mean by “the old SP10B UI”, I’m not sure.
