Texas_Ace MT09R Modding thread, 20k+ lumens, 80CRI, can start fires? Yes please.

There are videos on my YouTube channel and those were the previous drivers. I have 1 of the 35 high with version 1 of TA's driver showing a 822 yard shot lighting up a water tower.

That is sad and I think Fedex must take care of it.

I have had missing parcel too even though the system showed delivered. Luckily it was someone signed it but kept the parcel under his table for two weeks without telling me. The experience sucks even though mine was like usd50 order.

I took the camera out very early this morning and shot a little video footage of the 70.2 version with the final version of TA's driver and in my own light for now I am using stock NW emitters. a touch over 22k lumen.

I am sorry for some of the video being shot through a fence that should have been left open for me be someone dropped the ball and everything was locked. I will pick another area and shoot some more maybe tonight if there is a chance...

And here is the video footage of the 35 high using version 1 of TA's driver. Lux reading came out to over a 1k meter thrower.

The water tower you will see me shooting in the video is exactly 822 yards away measured with a professional range finder.

Yeah, I am waiting for fedex to get back to me now. I am hoping that the fedex driver simply didn’t deliver it since my truck was not in the driveway. He has been here enough to know that means I am not home.

On the plus side my outgoing packages are all ok and now have tracking updates, so that is a big load off.

Now I just have to sort out these LED’s, so there might be a few days delay on the modding while that is sorted out. I will keep ya’ll posted.

In the mean time I am going to go ahead and prep the lights by doing the spring bypasses and prepping the drivers for install so things will go quicker when the LED’s do show up.

The worst part if the violated feeling I get from this, I am seriously considering sticking a nice box out front today and parking my truck around the corner and seeing what happens.

I am glad outgoing packages made it through USPS… don’t worry about the led. You will get them.

Last year we had to go to camera's. It is much less expensive now than even just a year ago.

I can pull 4 cameras up on my mobile no matter where I am and can watch live. The recording unit has full terabyte of storage and each camera has a micro SD slot for up to 64 gigabytes each as back up. Totally wireless and less than 300 bucks now. When we put in ours it was almost double that.

I am now considering cameras myself, just never had a need for it before, the worst this neighborhood has seen was a lot of broken car windows almost 20 years ago.

Ok, I spent the day so far bypassing all the springs for all the lights I have on hand right now and I built SVK89’s first light with my last set of LED’s.

Stock with DC-fix applied it was downing around 12k lumens. (about right with the losses from the Dc-fix)

Now with the 80cri 4000k, spring bypasses and TA driver with 50% ramping it is doing about ~19k. A little lower then I figured but the DC fix is eating some of the light obviously.

That said the beam is fantastic, floody but very smooth and almost no tint shift. It also has an even better tint overall, I can’t wait till dark to compare it side by side with mine.

Sadly everyone else has to wait until I get more LED’s in, still waiting for fedex to call back with an update.

12k lumens with DC-Fix is spot on with my ceiling bounce estimate from two months ago. I estimated 13,076 startup lumens for the 4000k and 17,301 startup lumens for the 5000k, which were done before I applied DC-Fix.

Do you think you can swap out the lens with one that doesn’t have DC-Fix to see how much lumen I get without DC-Fix for an interesting comparison?

Ok, just figured out what happened to the LED’s and all is well with the world again!

Turns out that the mail lady ended up taking my fedex delivery with my outgoing mail by mistake. She brought it back today with a big apology. Phew, that is a massive load off my mind! I didn’t think this was the type of neighborhood that this happened.

So, now I will start working on finishing up all the lights I have right now, hopefully I knock most of them out by tomorrow. They should go a lot quicker with the bypasses already done.

wow, great outcome! What a relief, in many ways as u said. Breathe a big sigh of relief.

Sweet. I told you its gonna be ok. I respect usps. I never had a lost package. About 100 packages ( 3 years) received…

I removed the lens and it looks like it is doing around ~20k lumens without the DC-fix. A bit lower then most but there is a 14% tolerance for these LED’s so still well within the tolerance range. I am going to try a few things to see if I can improve that number any, my cells are not fully charged either.

You have no idea how much relief, last night was not fun trying to figure out how I would come up with the money to replace several lights and buy new LED’s.

Yeah, I was shocked that someone would even think about taking a usps package which is why I was not real worried about those. If you take a usps package that is an instant felony, they don’t mess around with that. So I have never really worried about leaving them out, particularly in my neighborhood.

UPS and fedex fall under different rules though. I usually drop them off personally for this reason.

I am just glad it is behind me now.

Ok, got my second light of the day finished. This is the second one for BORO. He once again wanted some 3000k 80cri LED’s 50% ramp and bypasses.

This one is doing even better then the last one though, I am getting ~21k lumens on this one vs 19K on the other one. I checked both again and the numbers were consistent. Just the LED lottery I suppose. Still well within the +/- 14% tolerance Cree gives.

Still the nicest high output warm white light I have seen yet. Most WW lights are low output it seems.

Now who oh who is next…

For anyone they may have wondered about thermal protection well... it works and works consistently. That last video I shot where the local youth baseball and football park is was supposed to have been left open for me you can easily see the light step down. Let it cool off even just a minute or two and kick it right back to turbo.

I think I will give in and change the step down temperature in mine just a little hotter. Other than that the driver and UI seem flawless.

Excellent work TA.

By the way I will be needing at least 1 more 70.2 driver for myself. I will be keeping one of if the 2 colors. I think probably the blue. Q

Ok, here is #3 for today, you know I should consider laser engraving these lights, if anyone is interested let me know. I do have assess to a laser engraver and could engrave whatever you want if you send me the design on the light for a fee. I would have to figure out the fee if people are interested but most likely around $10-$15.

This like is SVK89’s second light, this one is a black XHP35 hi light and he wanted a mixed tint setup with 2x 4000k 80cri and 1x 4500k 80cri. Not a bad choice at all, a very good final tint and around 5800 lumens.

This time I know who is next, it is Newlumens xhp35 light, I kinda got these lights mixed up at first so they were both disassembled on my desk for modding.

And #4 for today is now done, Newlumens tan XHP35.

He wanted XHP35 HI 5700k emitters, TA driver and 100% ramp.

These are actually pretty good for a CW emitter, They are on the cool side for sure but even I could stand them if I had to. Much much nicer then the stock CW and a lot brighter as well.

This is the highest XHP35 light yet (which makes sense, they are the highest bin yet as well unless someone trys the E4 bin I can get from another supplier for a short time).

It is making ~7200 lumens on my sphere. Quite nice indeed and further confirms my suspensions that the stock CW are something like C2 bin or a little lower.

Do you have any of those left.. if so when I start shipping this new batch to you I will send mine along too.
