well, good choice…i wrote them today.sadly, only smooth reflector and only cool white….not for me.but the led could be changed for xml….hm.very interesting light.
its a shame, that the famous Emisar can be used with he max.output only for seconds…fot its money its not enough for me.
Thanks for the suggestion, that light is 122mm long, the DQG is 88mm and the Folomov is 99mm, I really wanted a short 18650 light and apparently the folomov checks on all my requirements + it has a cell charger, will find out this afternoon when I get it.
I’ve been on the “eternal” quest for the most compact 18650 (side switch) light for years.
Have held off on the DQG Tiny 4th (87mm) because of reported switch failures.
Zebralight SC64 (92.5 mm) looks great but I haven’t got to the point of wanting to spend $80 on one small light.
I don’t need USB charging but I wouldn’t mind a magnetic docking charging system like on the Olight S2R.
Olight S2R………………. (105mm)…… $72.95 (but it’s too long and also expensive)
. Here’s the smallest ones I’m aware of with built in USB charging:
Unfortunately none of these offer a NW version.
I’ve been waiting at least five years for Olight to offer a NW version and they still don’t.
. The Nitenumen C8 appears to be the same body as the Folomov EDC-C4 but with stainless bezel.
EDIT I just realized the Nitenumen the has a large-ish rectangular protruding area for the USB jack, the Folomov doesn’t. But since the switch is directly opposite, it may serve to help readily locate the switch in the dark.
I really like the stainless bezel. I’ve been trying unsuccessfully for days to get clarification from Nitenumen on the UI specifics, but language barrier seems to be an issue. In one of the photos it shows the Strobe and SOS as being “concealed” modes, however a comment in the review leads me to think otherwise.
The Ultratac S20 does have hidden strobe: Ultratac S20
.
I’m really surprised after all these years nothing has come down the pike in the size realm of the DQG Tiny 4th, I probably should just get one already and look into to reinforcing the switch, maybe with glue/epoxy or something as Argo suggested. (glue/epoxy was also brought up several times in the Tiny 4th threads, as well as re-soldering/adding solder to the switch mounting pads)
manker u11 has usb but it is somewhat longer and has {in my experience} a VERY poorly designed and implemented switch
mine broke and is totally unrepairable at least by me
well now iam serious thinking about Folomov, which seems to be the highest quality,Nitenumen and Ultratac…but never seen any of them sadly.any special serious cons about this three lights??thanks
