Not C4-12 but from C2 6000. Cells are from Banggoods.

Button top?

These are my button top 30Q purchased from Banggood in September 2017. All 4 cells have IR values of less than 35 mOhm. I have charged them at least half a dozen times in the MiBoxer C4-12, and they always charge at 3A because of the low IR values.

All you guys’ button tops seem to look a tiny bit different than mine. Maybe my button tops are shorter/crappier? I have no idea. All I know is it’s frustrating as heck.

Mikeadoo…… Can you post a picture of your cells laying on their side looking straight down at the side profile of the button top.

Would someone be willing to cut off the outer wrapper of a 30Q to see if the after market installation of the button top is welded on or merely laying on top of the cell?
I have seen non welded button tops on cheap UltraFire batteries before. Non welded button tops could explain the high IR

Yes I will. Could you explain what you mean by “straight down at the side profile of the button top” though please? I think I know what you mean but just want to be sure.
I guess take a picture of one of yours and I’ll know what you are saying.
I am probably wrong about my button tops looking different but it just seemed like they did look different at the time of my comment.

Just something like this Mikeadoo. A picture that shows exactly how far the buttontop extends above the wrapper.

Cell can be laying down or standing up…… as long as the side profile of the buttontop can be seen as in this example picture.

Thank you Mikeadoo. Those are indeed extremely short buttontops…. barely proud (above) of the clear wrapper on the cell.

I am ’wondering’ if the clear wrapper & short buttontop are causing a poor connection with the charger as far as these cells go.

I’m not saying that they’re right—just look the same. Mine read an insanely high IR but I’ve been attributing it to the Miboxer charger. I have yet to put a button top in the charger that doesn’t read high IR.

You’re welcome teacher. I have put some protected and unprotected button tops in the charger. The protected were always a higher number than the unprotected button top (that came with my Sofirn C8F light) not much higher though. They actually kinda bounced around the 90-125 area for the protected cell. Sofirn is usually around 75 or 80 mOhms.

but the button top on the Sofirn cell is higher than the 30Q cells
