I walk around in HD every time Iām there looking for some of these deals. Mine always has some kind of sale but never the good deals some of you are finding. I wonder if these deals are manager specific deals. Some want to get rid of the stuff and others just want to send the items back.
Must of been a local deal even if they wouldāve had one it showed it was the regular price at my HD, when I asked if they had a clearance rack was told no any sale item are on the end of all the isle.
Do not want to damper thread. BUT, issues need to be addressed with Home Depot with so called ā deals ā
I saw entire case of Milwaukee 100 lumen penlights tagged $9.99. The store manager REFUSED to sell them to me. He blamed mistake on other people. Rather than address issue and fix it. The correct step should have been selling items to me. Then removing sign completely for $9.99. Calling associate meeting to make sure proper protocol for correct pricing is rolled out to entire staff.
Making customer happy and satisfied keeps them coming back. Not here. I will be shopping elsewhere for sure.
I was retail manager for 15 years. Ironically at home improvement stores. Anyone remember Builderās Square, Builderās Emporium, Home Base?
^Speaking of that,
Today I was in a HD and came across this display of LED lights.
These are newer āhigh endā CREEās that have high CRI. They sell at a premium relative to todayās prices and were about $20 each.
You can recognize them by the rainbow of colors on the package.
On clearance and marked down 75% to the ā2ā price of $5.02. Next step is to pull them and send them out to the dumpster.
Or so they say
What I really think is that they are going back to CREE and CREE is unloading them into the āodd lotā market.
A couple of days earler, I was in an Ocean State Job Lot and came across these.
Same high CRI bulb for only 99 cents, AND if you buy 12 you get a $12 gift card to the store at the register!
Net price of zero.
OSJL has been off loading CREE and other manufacturers bulbs now for over a year. Same deal on all, 99 cents per bulb with a full refund at the register in the form of a CRAZY DEAL gift card.
How can resist not buying all I can?
That does make a lot of sense, i somewhat recently found out HD in Canada (at least in my province) often sends clearance stuff to the Restore, the second hand charity shop for Habitat for Humanity
Well I was in the same Home Depot this morning. There were about 50 MET people crawling all over the store, scanning, organizing etc. I went over to the clearance shelves in the back of the store and all these LEDās lights scanned at a penny!
I was overwhelmed! What to do? So many!
So I did nothing, I walked out of the store disgusted :confounded:
Well I wasnāt quite right. Not ALL items were a penny, just 3/4ās of them!
Yesterday morning compared to this morning, after the MET team (locusts) descended onto the display.
Connecticut much better luck then central New Jersey, where there is never and I mean never anything remotely good or interesting on clearance in about 6 HD radius from me.
That may be true, I donāt know. But last year as we traveled through NJ my wife allowed me to stop along the way in a few stores. Found penny stuff in all of them.
Here is a receipt with the store address not blocked out on a couple of Bosch āLaser Measurersā In the post above I had ghosted out the store address.
Found a bunch of stuff in the Worlds largest HD in Union, NJ too
Yeah just gotta be in the right location, Neptune and Union are about 1 hour each way from where I am so itās tough to rationalize the drive not knowing if you will find something or come up empty.
I visited the HD in Chesterfield, MO, this morning and saw a cart full of various 1-cent LED bulbs, but I learned they were not for sale and were to be donated, probably to Habitat for Humanity.
I just came from my local Home Depot and saw these. 1/2 inch impact driver, battery and charger for $50!
There were 9 and as I was looking at them another guy walked up from the other side of the table.
Then I noticed that it included a 4Ah battery! When I told him that and showed him that the battery goes for $79 by inself, he grabbed 2.
So not to be out done, I grabbed 3
After off loading into my car I went back in. When I saw that the tool only package goes for $119.00, I bought 2 more. :sunglasses:
Then I went back in again, this all took about 10 minutes, and the last two were still there.
So I said what the heck, Iāll grab those too. :person_facepalming:
ugh, wow I need a new battery and charger for my older nicad ryoibi, this would be perfect if it even existed near me at that price, I was looking at a battery/charger set up for $60, I need to move to CT lol.
