[Review] Sofirn C8F ( Triple XP-L, 18650) ~ Outdoor comparison with C8A & C8T

Ευχαριστώ
Nice to see another Greek fellow in BLF!

Yup, I’m quite satisfied with the C8F. Nice review

What that this light need is bigger cell for such consumption .

All those pix of you shining at houses… surprised you didn’t include the pic of the copcar at your house with those pretty multicolored blinking lights. :smiling_imp:

But yeah, nice review of a nice light!

That pretty much sums it up.

Haha, the pictures are taken in my village. People there are chill

I love my C8F. It’s my go to when headed outside at night. First C8 I ever bought. Now I have 5. Addictive I tell ya.

Great review. I bought all three last month. Received the C8A and C8T already and they really are very good quality and very bright for its class. The C8T lumens are measured to be exactly the same as the Emisar D1S but D1S has a smaller hotspot so throws farther. The C8A is much brighter. I really like how Sofirn is becoming a hotrod brand.

Naw. Addictive wouldda been all the above followed by:

“…and I use ’em all at once!”

And I play with them in bed.

Doesn’t everybody?

I play with them in the shower, doesn’t everybody?

Too much pwm.

It was about time that a manufacturer would start producing seriously overdriven flashlights

Now they need to come up with something better than the spring bypasses. It’s fine as a mod, but it just doesn’t seem robust enough for a commercial product.

Great pics!

Thanks!!

Are you able to take 5 and 10 meter beam shots?

For me the spring bypass is OK in a commercial product as long as it’s done with the proper wire.
Unfortunately Sofirn tends to use very thin wires in their bypasses…

Yeah I take my favourite light to bed but I don’t play with them

My Sofirn C8F produces slightly more lumens than the Emisar D4 XPL-HI v2 and Thrunite TC20 and has the mass in the flashlight head to maintain the high lumens much longer than the D4, making this the most practical pocketable hotrod I have ever used. I just wish they had more tint option and if they used XP-L2 instead of XP-L. With XP-L2, it should gain another 20% in lumens.

Sofirn sells the dtp board for ~5bux, so that’s an option.

I have seen somebody already with an XP-L2 C8F build, with very high currents at Turbo… The less the Vf for a specific current, the harder the battery will be drained. With XP-L, max. current at Turbo is fairly well controlled, but I am afraid, that most cells could not handle the higher current requirements well.
