Non Flashlight orders/received

Got this Dewalt 20 Volt reciprocating saw today. I like that itā€™s compact and powerful with a
1.125ā€ stroke. And since I have Dewaltā€™s 20 volt drill and impact driver, I got this without the charger and batteries. Speaking of batteries, I ordered (2) 5 amp hour spares.

My (2) 5 amp hour batteries arrived today. Charging them now.

Got a new Fluke 62 Max Infrared Thermometer today. Iā€™m gifting my old 62 Mini to a buddy of mine.

Very nice!. One day I will get a Fluke, but this morning this is what came in my box The Banggood $6.99 special. So far, I've tested it on my morning coffee and it measures 128F.

Yep, I got the same one. Or mightta been GB instead of BG, forgot. No complaints.

Ugh, gimme good olā€™ fashioned flaming-hot crotch-scorching coffee anyday, rather than the tepid crotch-safe coffee everyone has (takeout or at-home) nowadays.

Had to look at GB and BG to remember where I got it from, but man, I can't take the scorching hot coffee anymore. Don't like it room temps either. After doing a few tests with my IR thermometer, 121F feels just about right

You canā€™t beat the price for sure! Iā€™m sure itā€™s accurate enough.

I really don't know how accurate it is, but it seems close. We all know when it comes to critical temps, then only a Fluke should be used.

This is why I spent $86.35. Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s way overkill for my needs. That said, I like having the top, or near the top products. I could have bought the 62 Max Plus, but I thought the difference in price wasnā€™t worth it.

I do the same thing with certain electric tools that I need to rely on. I don't skimp there at all.

Cool. We think the same on alot of things. My dad owned a hardware store, so I grew up with the best tools he sold. He really knew his stuff. I guess it rubbed off on me. BTW, Iā€™ll be 66 years old May 2nd.

Turning 60 soon but I still ride motocross bikes so at least I feel young! Yeah, you just can't beat quality tools in the long run. Your lucky with your dad owning a hardware store, many peoples dream really.

good thing you got the 5Ah batts, the one on the saw wouldnā€™t last long.
I got a couple 6Ah FexVolt ones from Amazon for $150 some time ago.
Last much better in my circular saw, vacuum and weedwhacker.
I like the yellow n black.

(and I turned 3/4 century last month)

sorry to say, but IR temps are never accurate anyway
materials all have different IR emission constants
metal, water, ceramic, food, ice, skin - ALL DIFFERENT
found out the hard way
well not really but after i got an IR meter, i wondered why boiling water was never 212

the outside of a glass bowl or cup, with boiling water would be different from the water itself
, a coffee cup would read something else still

not just 1 or 2 degrees but for boiling water, it is like 30 deg F difference!
anyway
the meter does not know what material you are trying to read, either

wle

finally got my button top samsung 30Q from banggood

The 62 Max has adjustable settings for different materials. How well it works, Iā€™m not sure yet.

Happy 75th! Anyway, my drill came with (2) 2 amp hour batteries. They last long enough for my needs. I figured the 5 amp hour batteries will be a better choice since I have to repair my fence which will require a lot of cutting. I paid $107.99 for 2 brand new genuine Dewalts.

That was a great price!
I am considering the 60V Chainsaw with my 1.2 acre and wind in the willows

I love the Dewalt Flex Tools! I didnā€™t know they made a Chainsaw in their Flex Tool line.

Ah yes, got one myself a couple of weeks ago. Posted this picture on a different thread.

Some of you might be able to guess the light I was aiming at. I'm still experimenting with emissivity charts available on the net.
