Astrolux "MF04" discussion thread

Can you make out the prices? What is the total light cost and is it free shipping or what amount is the shipping cost?

Edit, it looks like the whole light is $125, but I can’t imagine that low price would include shipping.

I think it’s with shipping, within China.

BTW, Regular price of MT35 Plus (aka MF-04) is $125. Regular price of MT35 (aka MF-02) is$111.
The GB price of MF-02 was ~$78.
Scaling the price linearly, GB MF-04 would cost less than $90.
I wouldn’t be so optimistic, but maybe $100 is possible….

That’s not the retail price on Taobao.
It’s a big discount for preselling of the first batch.

I guess you’re right.

I just checked, at the time of MF-02 GB, MT35 went for $64 from Taobao with orders of 50+ items (+shipping).
It’s now $83 (I assume +shipping).

Is it the expected release date ?

Any news about release date?

Prototype is alive:

Good!

Now for the first tests and the test outcome

If you get my drift :innocent:

Nice :sunglasses:
Imagine a even stronger beam coming back from up there :open_mouth:

What is the driver and UI on this light ? Is it as good as BLF GT ?

Freeme said it was going to be a different driver than the MF02. I’m not sure how different, though. The MF02 uses a 6v carrier along with a boost driver to feed 12v to the emitter. The MF04 is appearantly a larger headed MF02 so the battery tube and carrier might interchange. It would be a smart thing to do.

They haven’t posted the specifications yet, but I imagine the UI is going to be the typical Astrolux style. It will probably have four brightness levels plus a double click for strobe, etc…

We will gave to wait until they announce the final specs.

There are already offerings for the MF02 in regard to other driver ASO, and it would be nice if they was interchangeable for this one too, which i think they will be.

Thanks to JasonWW and sparkyDK.

nice photos… how does the light feel in hand, is it balanced with that small battery tube?

Similar weight?

Maybe they made the MF04 a bit lighter on the big end?

It sure looks lighter around the switch area.

Hi … just a brush up on the GT

Weights BLF GT

tail-cap 91 g
one battery holder 64 g (empty)

Here is what I found on:
Mateminco MT35 Plus
Battery 4*18650 battery
Weight 1290g (without battery)

That’s really nice. Wonder how it does compared to the GT…

beautiful pictures @steel_1024

Specs say 2000 lumens for the MF04 and my MF02 has 3000 lumens. Is 2000 lm a misprint for the MF04?
