BLF Q8 (4k Video review)

Bought this for my son as he wanted an Emisar D4, the D4 gets a little too hot and there’s not much battery life.

He loves it! [caution video contains bad language and mild scares]

Received my Q8 yesterday and WOW. I could of saved a lot of time and money if I had skipped right to this light in the first place  The default UI is very easy to learn which is important to me with my memory. The only programming that I need to remember is how to get back to ramping if I accidentally switch to step group. It will take some getting used to the chunkiness of it in the hand but a small negative. Probably will have to order a 4 bay charger now. Thanks to all at BLF that made it work.

Great video! Thanks!

Excellent video. I’m really happy with my Q8. Great tint, and the batteries seem to last forever.

Very nice video! I enjoyed watching it.

Thanks guys, it’s a great light, I couldn’t not get it at the offer price of £35.20!!!

Great video!
I followed the design and build right from the start
I don’t need this light, but after watching your video,
NOW I WANT ONE.

nice work on the video.

gave me a chill goose bumps

I got mine Q8 a week ago. While it is a great light, especially for the price, I wish there would be like second generation of it with following enhancements, mainly regarding design:

- Proper lanyard hole at the tail cap of the light

- Metalic indicator switch, that is a bit harder to press accidentally - something similar to Thrunite lights

  • knurling all over the tube, instead of those smooth spots - they look unfinished

Funny thing is everyone say it’s a great light with value money but im yet to own one :person_facepalming:

Most of my lights do atleast 10k lumens and it’s hard for to settle with 5k lumens. :face_with_monocle:

While we set out at making a proper SRK with amazing output that would awe the fanatics, during developement we were overtaken by a flood (pun intended) of quality lights with amazing output. I fell for a X7 Marauder of 9000 lumen, great light and very well regulated, and before I even had it, there was 12,000, 25,000 and 32,000 lumen.

But all those lights are very floody which is not everyone’s preference, while only the Q8, with its in the meantime modest output, has a balance between flood and quite some reach, outthrowing most of them.

And the price is also modest, which for me makes it a light to use and abuse (and mod  ), and thusfar it can withstand that!

So while originally aimed at the flashoholic, the Q8 turned out to be very much a user’s light.

There are definitely better and brighter lights than the BLF Q8, but in terms of dollars per lumen, it’s hard to beat.

I saw X45 in the list of flashlights, but no comparisons in the video.
