Boruit Headlamp Review D10 (aka. EHL0628) - King of the Budget Headlamps?

Dang, I totally missed this headlamp because I thought it was about the other Boruit! The other model has worked great for me at work but is about the size of a RedBull can compared to this one.
Thanks for all the info and modding tips!!! Now I just need to find the best deal and patiently wait for round-the-world shipping.
I work in a production shop that is too broke to replace failing lighting and even with proper lighting it’s difficult to see inside machines for repair. I’ve turned my fellow employees on to headlamps and they now reach for them rather than trying to work on things one-handed with a standard flashlight. This type of safe, rechargeable, effective headlamp is a blessing.
BLF FTW!!

edit: JasonWW, WTH is that battery you posted?!!! unfreakingbelievable

It’s cheap at the official Boruit Aliexpress store.

Unno, I got a RJ02 (the “Red Bull can”?) and am quite happy with it.

But yeah, when I couldn’t find my ’02 and had to grubble around in some boxes, I was loathe to do so one-handy with a regular light, then remembered I had it hanging on the doorknob by the headband.

So much better…

Sorry, exaggerated for clarity. “Mini energy drink can” is more like it.
The LVP, higher PWM frequency, and reduced size of this one is hard to beat.
Don’t use aliexpress much so I’m loading up the cart.

Aliexpress is like ebay. Many stores under a common payment system. So you can buy a lot from a single store and it should ship together. If you buy from a lot of different stores, they will come from different locations and take different shipping times. Some stores are more reputable than others.

In case you didn’t know.

Last time I ordered about 6 items and every one of them require a signature, so a trip to the post office very time. Will try to avoid that this time.
Any idea if there’s room for a magnet in the tailcap?
Wonder if repeated removal from holder will make it lose its grip.

What? Every one of my orders got delivered to my mailbox. I’ve never had to sign for anything from AliExpress.

I guess you could add a thin magnet in the tail cap as long as you use a short battery. Also, it may not screw on enough to cover the O-ring.

The headband holder is rigid plastic so it shouldn’t get soft over time.

(this is a repost, I was in the RJ-02 topic)
I have finally try the latest boruit
I was pretty convince the first day…

only work when charging now… don’t know why……
anyone ever had the same fail as me?
headlamp working only when charging?

light is back, it was in something like a “backpack lock”, put pretty unusual to undo (still don’t know how I’ve done…)

So it’s working fine now?

Tighten the ring around the button more tightly.

Hmm . . . I wonder too. That would make for a nice added feature! I have one of those Convoy S2 type magnets I could check.

It would need to be as thin as possible to fit inside the tail cap. I think the magnet you’re talkin about is the ring style which mounts on the outside of the tailcap. If you don’t mind a magnet on the outside then there are several different sizes to choose from.

Ah, ok. I haven’t even looked at the magnet next to a light to see how it mounted.

nope, it has return in this “lock position ” few times, but I was able to return to normality, by randomly clicking, now it’s lock again……

already tight, thanks

How do you know it’s not a battery connection problem?

That seems much more likely than an undocumented lockout mode.

because I have “unlock it” several times without touching the battery/screwing, sometimes I see mild light flash, it’s maybe juste the board who fail… In fact I don”t know what it doesn’t work sometimes, and work the other, everything look fine

ok, so when I place a wire between the micro usb (exterior part is that the +?), and the aluminium body, the headlamp work, do you know where the electrical connection between the board, and the aluminium body should be? a bit of soldering will maybe the solution….

The only thing I can think of is unscrewing the driver retaining ring around the green button, look inside, then retighten. It is a reverse thread. Maybe this will make the driver get better contact.

If that doesn’t work I would have them replace it.
