14500 sizes

I hope you weren’t going to put 2x14500 in a 2xAA light, even if they would fit.

Posting tutorial:

Why not please? Then that means I might end up making spacer if only 1 is used?

If AA are in parallel and your flashligt works also with 14500 you can, but if is it in seriese not because you will have 8.4V instead or 3V.

14500 is about the same size as an AA, but its a 3.7V battery. AA batteries are 1.5V. You can find 14500 batteries that are compatible though with AA batteries.

Both batteries will be installed with + end towards head and next battery right behind it. That is the reason I can not fit both in there. Both 14500 will be 1/2” longer.

14500 li ion have 3,6V nominal 4.2V maximum not 1.7

Ooh, the battery is 3.7V according to package on battery.

Your lucky was longer , otherwise you burned your FL

Cool thanks. So I can use 1 and make spacer?

I’m not sure depend of your FL specification , if works with 4.2V Yes.

If you got the 14500s in order to have rechargeable batteries, look into getting some Eneloop AA instead. They will be the correct voltage for your light and are high quality.

And now that you have some 14500s, now you can add to your collection and buy a light that takes them. Just make sure the light you get specifically says it will take protected 14500s.

I agree too ,best advice for you.

These are the 2.

Thanks for info. I have the Costco Eneloops recently.

Unfortunately no one informations there about max voltage . Stay with AA rechargeable better.

“The HyperCAGE features an industrial design that is nearly unbreakable. Drop it from 100 feet and dunk it 3 meters under water, it can handle it.”

It survives a 100 foot drop. That’s impressive!

That is reason I own 2 of them. Just wanted to use 14500. But I will settle on Eneloops if not viable for 14500.

For 14500 buy this and you will be more than happy:

I got several 14500s now.

The Sofirn 14500 is noticeably shorter, even with its button top, it’s just as tall as the shoulder of the Fujitsu (LSD NiMh).

The Hixon is a protected 14500 and is notably much taller than a regular AA (it’s also slightly fatter in diameter).

The PKCell is a flat-top (on the second PKCell in the picture, I placed a disc magnet on top of it so it can function as a button-top temporarily on flashlights that require button tops)
