Boruit RJ-02 headlight... 2 thumbs up...

Vaguely recall it drew a smidge over 1A, so maybe 2-3hrs, depending on the cell.

I ordered these two BORUIT headlamps from Alie Express.(free shipping)

I ordered them on Jan. 20th and they just landed in the states yesterday. One of the fastest shippers I have encountered on AE!

New thread for the single LED Boruit headlamp found here.

Bought one for the heck of it
I hope Lightbringer gets his commission !

Only one? C’mon, the Bringer Of Light needs a new Q8…

I measured 1.40A on the Boruit RJ-02’s tailcap current with a freshly-charged battery.
If I recall correctly, the RJ-02 does not appear to have low-voltage protection, so it may run down the battery if left on. (maybe someone can confirm?)

That is the information I have. So it is recommended to use a protected battery so that there is no chance of an accidental over discharge.

Just got one, the led is not XP-G2, even not a cree led
The tint is acceptable(no horrible blue/green tint)
For 9$ this is a good light

Toldja.

Who told you it used a xpg2?

It’s some no-name led. A bit on the bluish side in my opinion.

How hacquable is it (D10, D25)?

Separate pcbs for the emitters? Driver board flashable? Etc.

you can change the emitter, I will make more picture/ dismantle when I will finish with the seller
anyone ever had the same lemon as me?
headlamp working only when charging?

The ’02 I leave alone because despite the generic emitter, it just plain doesn’t bug me. Quite nice, in fact. So dissecting it and risking having other components fall off the uniboard when trying to heat up (just) the LED doesn’t make sense to me.

But having multiple blinkies in the main sequence? Nope, not a chance, mmmmmmbuh-bye. Don’t care how nice it is otherwise.

At least if the charging board were independent of the driver, etc., then I’d risk it.

There are other threads for the non RJ02 models.

It looks like you battery might not be making contact due to the green light coming on when the main light is off and usb is plugged in.

Then again, it might be something else. Have you contacted the store and asked for a replacement or refund?

What are you talking about here?

many thanks, I will repost here

The other Boruits various people mentioned (by links).

Axed about the D25, etc., as to how hacquable they might be.

I kinda think those other versions would have the same UI which is no blinkies in the main sequence. Blinkies are accessed through a dbl click. Why are you thinking they would be in the main sequence?

Unno, the little diagram that went something like high, low, strobe, sos, beacon, ramp.

No, it’s one click on and one click off (turns on at medium brightness, #3 of the 5 levels).

You press and hold to cycle through the 5 brightness levels.

Dbl click for Strobe, dbl click again for SOS and dbl click again for Beacon.
