Arrived home from work to a big surprise. BLF GTs Both in good condition and functional.
This is one beautifully made light.

Never have got any kind of shipping notice or delivery notice from DHL. Wife was home to sign for them by pure luck.

For reference I am about 1.5hrs east of St.Louis.

Now to wait for the bag and cap.

Never got a email or text from DHL or Neal, but called DHL and it’s in Minneapolis now, should be here tomorrow, they said to leave a note for the driver so they can leave it without signing since I’ll be at work.
Charging up some older Sanyo cells so I have something to play with

No, rechargeable LiIon cells are rarely if ever shipped charged. My experience has been they usually arrive between 3.5V & 3.8V…… depending on brand.

Received my second GT, along with the shorty tube, today in Pennsylvania.

The GT is much better with the short tube than I expected. The main reason I ordered it was to have in case something happened to a battery carrier. Now that I have actually tried it I believe that it will stay on the GT full time. The balance does not seem at all bad to me and the reduced weight is a big plus.

Thanks to all involved for producing a great light. Also, thanks for the 1000's of hours people have spent patiently and wisely answering all of the questions with good useful information. I would like to mention everybody by name but I am sure I would forget a few so if you are reading this be sure your time has been appreciated.

So now that a couple friends have seen my GT in action they both want one. Will there be any extension to the group buy after drop outs are figured? I’d like access to possibly two more at a reasonable cost if possible.

As long as people were talking about the driver retaining ring, I just wanted to say thanks to whoever is responsible for making the driver easy to access and reflash without soldering anything. That made my firmware efforts a lot easier.

The Q8 and GT are both easy to reflash without a soldering iron.

You can PM Neal for a tracking number. That’s what he said to do in post 1140 if you didn’t receive a tracking number from DHL. That’s how I got my tracking number.

I received my BLF GT yesterday…. (The GT, batteries and short tube) and after opening the box I did not expect to giggle (laugh) but when I saw the size of the reflector it put a huge smile on my face (thanks BLF GT Team). Just charging up the batteries… can’t wait to fire it up and do a review on my YouTube channel. Just waiting now on the bag and caps that I also ordered to arrive!

Ok thanks for that info. This is my first ever “real” flashlight. I don’t even have a way to charge the batteries yet. Lol… wanted to make sure I got the GT first. Cool thing is once I was told about the stickers I did get it to come on. Can’t wait to see it fully charged. Just need to find the charger…

I have been trying to get them to sell a whole bunch of parts for the GT but no response yet. Now that the GB is almost over I might get a better response.

Jason… just a bit of trivia.

If the pattern holds true, between numbers 1 & 1425; there will be 83 people who DID NOT get the round 4 PM for payment.

That 83 represents over 100 lights.

Were you saying the other night that you had manually sent PM’s to all these people…. as far as you knew?

No, I just sent PM to the 17 people that posted they haven’t received it and are in the 4th batch list.

Who knows, maybe most of the 66 left did get a PM. Or maybe new PM’s will be sent out any day now.

I have the same incredible story as this guy, light came in yesterday.

Drove to my friends house to show the light of with the light in my lap I definitely felt armed and dangerous. Just Kidding, you definitely know the light is in your lap.

This light is hard to show off in city limits without lighting up half the houses on the block and down the block unintentionally. Small tube makes me feel like I may drop it (thanks for the option of a small tube) big tube allows for a better grip on the light and better balance. Thanks for all the thought that went into building this light.

Have another question about one of the Samsung INR18650-35E batteries I received with my GT. After using (2) XTAR SV2 chargers for charging (4) of the batteries that I pulled out one of the holders, I charged them on a 1A charge until 100. Took them off and measured the voltages. 3 of the 4 were showing 4.106V-4.195V, but the other cell was showing 4.050V? I then stuck it back on the charger and it said it was 80 charged.

So, I am letting it charge again to 100% and will take another measurement. Does this sound like this battery may have an issue? Not sure if this is normal as I have only used mainly protected cells!

That’s very odd. I also have a pair of SV2 Chargers. Mine are very consistent in that the termination voltage is right at 4.18 to 4.20.

Are your chargers brand new and this is the first time you’ve ever used them? Or maybe this is the first time you’ve ever checked the termination voltage?

If one or both chargers are that far off in voltage then you may have an issue with the charger and might need to get it replaced. I would try and verify if it’s a issue with the charger or the battery by charging up some other batteries and seeing what they end up at. Also you can wait till the battery is charged up to about 97% to 99% and check the voltage on the charger. The last stage of charging is constant voltage (CV) so it should maintain 4.20 volts as it slowly reduces the amperage. If the charger is putting out less than 4.17v let’s say, then you might have a bad charger.

If you verify that the charger is doing the correct voltage then you might have to worry about the battery. Make sure the terminal connections on the charger and the battery are nice and clean. Sometimes you can get residue from the sticker that interferes with the connection. Once the connections are clean and it still doesn’t want to charge up very close to 4.2 volts, then there could be an issue with excess resistance through the added-on button top. That is a whole other subject though, so let’s wait and see if one of the earlier things I mentioned is the cause.

Neal sent my GT on april 25th, and I have no news since then. I live in France, and I have no idea which transporter is used for my country (DHL ? TNT ? standard post ?). I mailed Neal the day before yesterday to get a tracking number, and got no reply (yet).

Does anybody from France can tell me who the transporter was when they received their GT ?

I should have been on the list for a second GT. At least I thought I was at some point. Never got another PM after the first round but I thought I made it in time for the second batch and never heard anything. I’m not complaining. Mistakes happen (might have been on my part).

My dilemma is that I told my buddy months ago I got in on the second batch for him and I’ve not been able to produce anything. He wants it more than I do so I might just have to sell him mine. I don’t want to sell him mine… LOL.

There’s a whole forum section here on chargers. I’m sure other’s here can make good recommendations too. Personally I picked up the MiBoxer c4-12 a while back, but you should pay attention to the settings on that unit, so it might not be good for a first time charger. I also already had a Thrunite mcc-4 that was part of a bundle with a TN36, so I was pretty much set to charge all 8 at once. The Thrunite is pretty easy to use.
