I can check the Q8 boards but I assume they are ok, they look good. I will check the Q8 board with Luxeon V’s, but I have only two left, could you send 2 Luxeon V leds with the boards? (I will pay for them).
I do not own SST40 leds but I can check the 5050 pads with XM-L2 leds if that is ok with you, for checking the function of the board that should be sufficient. If not I can order some SST40 leds but that will take a while.
I see in few BLF threads people expressed need for BLF GT XHP70 DTPMCPCB. I can make them,just like BLF Q8 PCB, is there bigger interest(100pcs+)?
If yes,I can make a batch, available in ~1month.
If there is any other interesting MCPCB, I can also consider it.
As seen in his video, (at 1.45 minute) vestureofblood has used a prototype of such a board (with TA logo) in his XHP70.2 GT, the idea I think is that Lumintop at some point will come up with either a XHP70.2 GT or the loose board (and driver). There is no mention of a timeline for when things are happening but the question I guess is if there is a market for two sources for such a board. (perhaps you can contact Texas_Ace about what is going on) .
For me personally I’d be really happy if in a month or so there is a board ready, I have a driver and a led, I’m just waiting for a board now, and I’d be surprised if a Lumintop board will be ready a month from now.
Edit: Btw, I got the Q8 boards and leds in, just waiting for some time to swap them in a Q8 and check the fit and numbers.
My family was gentle on me today and allowed some time to try the led4power Q8 board in a Q8. I posted it in the WDYMT thread. In short, it works fine and the Q8 with Luxeon V leds rocks!
So I’m not up to date on the latest emitters, especially non cree emitters. There may be a better option coming soon. Seemed to be the case as I read some of the previous comments a day or two ago. I’m wondering however, if there would be enough interest in a 16mm board for the OSRAM black flat.

Thanks djozz! That was quick, I sent boards 4 days ago.

I will make 16mm OSRAM mosX gen2 PCB (~4times lower thermal resistance compared to mosX), difference in output compared to copper DTP should be ~1.5 - 2% based on some calculations.

Triple/quad? This is the only powerfull led that may help carclo 10mm optics work the way it was developed for.
From now on, shipping calculation is based on weight, over 50€ order registered shipping is available with 2€ discount included. Also, for heavy packages there is Premium packet option available for most EU countries, with good prices.
Thanks, that’s what I was thinking so the light could more usable.
I would compare the light to a Maglite, which I’ve seen modded with 3x xhp50 / 5000lm
https://asflashlights.com/led-upgrades-for-maglite/84-5000-lumen-2-d-siz...
But I also see it gets real hot, 225 degrees in 15min. http://budgetlightforum.com/comment/1307634#comment-1307634
.
Also there’s no 5050 16mm mcpcb with pads to mount the mosfet, so LD-B4HV can be used only with 20mm mcpcb, correct?
"Over 2000000 hours (about 200 years) standby time" (DQG Tiny 4th)
"27,157 results for zoomable flashlight" (ebay)
Yes, LD-B4(HV) can be used with 20mm boards, on 16mm there is not enough space for anything other than LED.

When can we expect to start seeing these LEDs?
Current Collection: BTU: Shocker (3 x SST-40 @ 8A); Lumintop: BLF GT70 (CW Sliced), BLF GTmini; Solarforce: 2 x L2P (XM-L2 U3 2C @ 4A), MPP-1 (XP-L HI @ 6A), MPP-3 (3 x XM-L2 U2 2C @ 12A), M6 (Nichia 319A @ 6A), M8 (Cree XHP-50.2 @ 9A), 9x (9 x XM-L2 U2 1A @ 2A);
Coming Soon: Lumintop: BLF GT4; Sofirn: BLF-LT1;
Probably in the next 4-12 months, they are not in production yet.

exciting
Wow, that’s fast. I expected it that it would be a while before you had the Q8 boards ready. How soon can we expect the triple 4040 32mm boards?
@djozz
I already packed 2 boards and 4 L1V1s. 5050 checking is not necessary, if 4040 are good, 5050 will be too.

~3-4weeks,and not just triples.

That’s some fast turnaround time. I guess I’ll be making another order in a month or so.
Very nice looking MCPCB’s, looking forward to trying the Q8 with Luxeon V’s or one of my favorite the XM-L2 7A3 CRI90.
@LED4Power, have you thought about doing Nichia 144AM MCPCBs?
I would love a 20mm Nichia 144AM MCPCB.
