What to do with my faulty OTR M3?

My OTR M3 only lights up in flickering moonlight and will never change modes.
It happened when I accidentally dropped my light down into salty seas and water get all inside making the driver wonky.

I wished to dismantle it and maybe change the driver hoping to get it to work.

So I have 2 questions

-How do I get the pill out? By hammering it from the bottom driver side with a dowel and block of wood?
I saw Tom E getting it out so I get the gist of how it looks but never really tried it.
Any pro tips?

-If I managed to get it out, what driver can I use to replace it? I’m okay with anything as long as I can get it back working and usable.

Thanks for your time

Actually, if you really got nothing to lose, you can give it a coupla quick soaks in plain water followed by distilled water, then alcohol, then let it thoroughly dry out.

Try to get out the switch, if possible, of course. Most everything else should be wash-out-able unless it’s been soaking in salt water for so long that things got corroded.

I prefer to disassemble stuff as much as possible, if possible.

It’s a judgment call…

I’ve tried a couple of alcohol and contact cleaner baths on it but no results.

Maybe I should wash it down with distilled water like you said to dissolve some salts.

I’m hoping that nothing much corroded as I see it looks shiny from the pill holes. I’ll give it a try tonight see how
